Moonduck announce a new tournament format: Midas Mode

Monnduck is ready to introduce a whole new tournament. Midas Mode is more or less inspired by the Market Stock system.

The exact dates, teams attending and even the tournament rules are still being worked on, but one thing is sure: The Midas Mode will run after the Kiev Major. The rules in very big lines are saying that each participating team will start with a sum of virtual currency named MoonBucks (MB). MoonBucks will be used for everything a game might need. Each picked hero will cost a sum of MB, so do the banned heroes. Each pause will cost MB. The hero costs will fluctuate from game to game depending on how impactful they prove to be. For example, let’s say an Earth Spirit pick at the start of the series costs 100 MB, in game two it might double or triple its value.

Once a team runs out of MB, which will surely happen at some point, the community comes in and gets involved just as in the Elimination Mode tournament. Only this time, the community will get to vote for the daily challenges that will earn the teams an amount of MB.

Daily Challenges examples:

Wing a game with Techies: MB 3,000
Kill Roshan but don’t take the Aegis: MB 8,000
Never buy Smoke of Deceit: MB 9,000
Pick flying heroes only : MB 20,000

Keep in mind that none of these challenges are set in stone yet, neither the heroes or pauses costs. All the details are soon to come online, along with the invited teams. Until then, we invite you to watch Moonduck’s introduction video for their latest tournament, Midas Mode.
