Virtus Pro fires their Dota 2 manager after the DAC incidents

Following the DDosS attacks that prevented Virtus.Pro from playing in the Dota 2 Asian Championship qualifiers, the organization took drastic measures against their Dota 2 manager, Andrey Kvasnevsky.

Yesterday, Virtus.Pro admitted via an official post on their website that their Dota 2 team was dealing with DDoS attacks during their games versus Effect and LQ in the DAC qualifiers group stage. Today, VP’s General Manager, Roman Dvoryankin announced his decision to fire Andrey Kvasnevsky, the team Manager. Andrey Kvasnevsky took on himself all the blame for the bootcamp choices made for the Dota 2 team and all the issues that occurred with the internet connection at their location in Krasnodar, Russia.

Roman Dvoryankin’s official statement

Last week, during the first game of the DAC qualifier, our Dota 2 roster encountered internet connection issues. It’s 2017 and such things would be unacceptable even at a mixed amateur tournament. On Monday, we were the target of a DDoS attack that was also preventable. As head of the organization, I bear the responsibility for this, and would like to apologize to the team’s fans and shareholders. We have also decided that our Dota 2 roster manager, Andrey Kvasnevsky, will be leaving the team. I’d like to wish Andrey all the best of luck in the future. It wasn’t an easy decision to make.
