Northern Arena BEAT Invitational Day 1 Summary

Last night we saw the Northern Arena BEAT Invitational kick off with Ad Finem, Team NP, Wings Gaming and FDL competing on day one.

With this tournament being one of the final events prior to the Boston Major, many of the teams would be looking to ensure that they were prepared. The first series of the tournament would see Ad Finem take on Team NP, both teams who were not initially invited to the event but who were ready to fight hard and take their series through all three games. In the end, it was Team NP who overcame Ad Finem and would go on to the upper bracket semi-finals. The next game saw Wings facing off against FDL and this was no problem for The International 6 champions as they flattened FDL and sent them into the lower bracket to face off against Ad Finem.

The lower bracket, as usual, is not somewhere teams enjoy finding themselves, no less at this event as it involved a best-of-one elimination match. FDL could not overcome their opponents and thus were unfortunately eliminated by Ad Finem who move on in the lower bracket, awaiting their next opponent.

The Upper Bracket semi-finals continued as Team NP went up against Wings and once again, Wings crushed their opposition, sending them into the finals of the upper bracket, while NP await their opponents in the dreaded lower bracket.

Tonight sees the continuation of the event as EHOME, compLexity Gaming, EG and Alliance all battle it out for a place in the finals.
