Team NP departs from DreamLeague due to a tight schedule

Team NP announced their departure from ASUS ROG DreamLeague Season 6 due to a schedule packed with too many games.

Team NP recently announced that they would no longer be playing in the sixth season of DreamLeague. This decision to withdraw from DreamLeague, where they were already struggling with a score of 3-7, came after NP realized that they have too many tournaments in their schedule and would not have sufficient time to finish their games. DreamLeague announced this on their website and mentioned that this decision results in the immediate disqualification of NP from the tournament, all prize money that the team has won so far is removed, and all their games shall be forfeited, which leaves NP at an overall  score of 0-14. DreamLeague also mentioned that since the tournament has been underway for quite some time now, they would not be replacing NP with another team, rather they would carry on with seven teams.

Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao elaborated upon his decision to leave DreamLeague in his comprehensive tweet the same day. He mentions that NP's decision came after they realized that they had too many tournaments to play during the same time period, and realized that it was better to drop out of DreamLeague. He also explained that NP preferred to play most of the games before the qualifiers for the Boston Major but due to their fault in asking late, he could not reserve the time slots. Their hard-earned success in the North American qualifiers for the Boston Major resulted in NP's schedule becoming overloaded with tournaments.

EternaLEnVy mentioned that NP's present situation saw them face a scenario in which they would have to play ESL One Genting's qualifiers, DotAPit, MoonduckTV's Elimination Mode 2.0, as well as DreamLeague, all in the same week. This is also during the time that precedes the Northern Arena BEAT Invitational, to which NP were invited a few days ago as a replacement for Digital Chaos. EternaLEnVy mentions that his decision was based around the fact that he does not want to stress his team by playing too many games, and wants to spend more time preparing for their upcoming games, and their LAN in Montreal.

DreamLeague Season 6's league play round is currently underway. Each game win nets the winning team $1,000, totalling a prize pool of $56,000 just for the League Play. The top four teams from the League advance into the offline finals, which will be held at DreamHack Winter in Jönköping, Sweden. It will feature a double elimination format and a prize pool of $175,000. You can follow DreamLeague on their Twitch.
