StarLadder i-League Star Series Season 2 to be held in North America

The first season of the StarLdder i-League Star Series crowned Alliance as champions in Minsk, Belarus in January this year and will visit the warm weather of the North American coast next.

Eight teams will battle for a share of the $300,000 prize pool this summer, from the 21st to 24th July in a yet to be announced location. But before traveling to the North American continent, five of the eight participating teams will have to win their right to compete via regional qualifiers. With the LAN event scheduled to happen in less than two months, StarLadder will kick off the competition on May 13th.

All four regions will get the chance to determine who will be their representatives for the second season of Starladder i-League Star Series with the exception of the two Chinese teams, who will be determined via H-Cup.

For the European competition StarLadder offered tiered invites and will run three stages of qualifiers. Tier one teams will join the competition in stage two while tier one teams will have to fight in a GSL group style where only the top two from each group will advance further. The second stage will have two double elimination brackets where the winners of each will advance into the playoffs. The winner of this will grab the one spot available for the main event.

Tier one Invites: Ad Finem, Team Empire, No Diggity, Vega Squadron

Tier two invites: Power Rangers, Virus.Pro, Danish Bears, !Rebels, Team Spirit, Polarity

Although everything is set for Europe, China, and Southeast Asia, the participating teams for the American qualifiers are yet to be announced. The competition is scheduled to commence on 16th May with the same format used for SEA.
