Frankfurt Major: The CIS dream stays a dream, VP eliminated

A very tense best-of-three later, OG managed to barely edge out Virtus.Pro 2-1. With this result, OG proceed to face CDEC and VP is eliminated.

Virtus.Pro finishes their run in the Frankfurt Majors at 7th-8th place, they walk home with $105,000 of the prize pool.

Game one

The game was even from the start, with both teams being unable to secure a large advantage up till the mid game. During which, VP played aggressively - diving tier twoes and securing multiple kills. However, OG's smoke worked out extremely well, killing four heroes on VP and forcing multiple buybacks. OG quickly took advantage of their new lead and tried to Rosh. VP detected this and attempted to stop it, but once again, OG prevailed, crushing VP in a teamfight and securing the lead that would eventually win them the game.

Game two

The game kicked off at an insane pace, with the kill count at 14 seven minutes in. Whilst VP's core Venge was giving OG's offlane Tusk a hard time, both teams traded ganks and towers, until VP got a double damage rune on Viper and took Rosh with it. Using the Aegis advantage, VP destroyed a tower and tried for OG's raxes. When VP tp'ed back to defend against the OG's split push, OG went for a chase for the remaining heroes. VP.G's Viper turned and fought one on four, won the battle and took OG's rax. VP managed to get another set of raxes when they caught out OG's Tiny. With two rax down, one more fight going in VP's favor allowed the Russians to take the game at 47 minutes with a 41-32 kill score.

Game three

VP started off the game well - shutting down the enemy AM with Dark seer and Jakiro, however multiple individual mistakes lead to OG's Bane and Slardar getting multiple kills. VP recovered by slowly gaining momentum via taking towers and getting off a few ganks. The built up advantage wasn't enough and the momentum swung out of VP's favor when OG put up a strong Rosh defense, winning two teamfights; this also allows OG's Anti-Mage to recover.

VP kept on pressuring OG, managing to stop the Anti-Mage from becoming a problem, however, a smoke gank by OG resulted in four kills and an Aegis for them, bringing the game back. Riding this advantage, OG's Anti-Mage went out of control and took this tense best-of-three series.
