After a brief announcement yesterday morning, KeyTV has announced that the Nanyang Championship will have a base prize pool of $200,000, making it the largest prize pool the South East Asian region has ever seen. On top of that, 25% of all in-game ticket sales will also be added into the prize pool.
The prize pool breakdown is as follows:
1st. $100,000 + 48% crowdfunded amount
2nd. $50,000 + 24% crowdfunded amount
3rd. $25,000 + 12% crowdfunded amount
4th. $10,000 + 8% crowdfunded amount
5-6. $7,500 + 4% crowdfunded amount
Apart from the main announcement, KeyTV dropped another hint stating that the qualifiers will be starting two months before the tournament. Considering the Nanyang Championship will be taking place on the 26th of October, we can safely assume that the online qualifiers will begin early September.
It is still unknown how the invite process for the 10 competing teams works but KeyTV confirmed to GosuGamers that more information will be released early next week.
