Virtus.Pro and Empire to secure Esportal Grand Finals

First series from the Esportal League’s semifinals had as protagonists Virtus.Pro and Vega Squadron, in the Upper Bracket Final, while Empire was waiting their opponents in the Lower Bracket.

In the opening game of the evening Virtus.Pro looked strong having a great start with all three lanes won in the early stage of the game and a set of racks down in their favor. But things changed dramatically as Vega pulled out an incredible recovery towards the end of the game. With Radiance and an Aegis on the Wraith King played by FN (new standin ) he became pretty much an immortal hero and proved to be a nuissance for Virtus.Pro. It looked like VP had no damage to deal with his three lives and despite their double Scythe of Vyse they lost the first game.

For the second game between these two teams it was Vega’s turn to dominate the early laning phase but VP had a core Naga Siren for Illidan who patiently farmed his Radiance while his team was losing all the lanes. Once the shiny Radiance was aquired they perfectly coordinated their spells and wiped Vega Squadron in each and every teramfight winning the game in 42 minutes.

The drafting phase of the last game put on the bench all the star heroes from the previous games, Phantom Lancer, Naga Siren and Wraith King being banned out. Even so, Illidan got to play his Silencer while G received the Bloodseeker with which he was out of control. He never died, having a personal score of 12-0-5, he secured the key kills needed to make the teamfights easier for his team. VP won the decisive game in 45 minutes and advanced in the grand finals of Esportal League.

Sent in the Lower Bracket final by VP, Vega had to face the other strong contenders for the Esportal title, Team Empire. In the first game of the series it was Empire who completely dominated having a good mobility draft with Spirit Breaker and Ember Spirit. A very active Bounty Hunter played by Alohadance set up the tracks and made the pickoffs easy to get leading to a huge advantage for his team who took the game in only 23 minutes.

Thinking they can counter the Bounty Hunter, Vega allowed Empire once again to get their hands on Alohadance’s hero in the next game. Although both teams were trading kills all over the map starting from the early game, it was Empire who benefited the most due to their track bounty bonus.

An unfortunate disconnect of yoky interrupted the game for more than 25 minutes and when he finally came back he wasn’t able to join his team on Team Speak but even so Empire managed to maintain the dominance over Vega. The great initiation potential provided by Yoky’s Centaur Warrunner coupled with good vision from the Bounty Tracks brought the victory for Team Empire who joined Virtus.Pro in the grand finals.

The last act of Esportal League, the best of five grand finals, between Empire and Virtus.Pro will take place today, July 5th at 17:00 CET and it will be broadcasted by Beyond the Summit on the Esportal dedicated Twitch.tv channel.
