After a fairly good third position, given the fact they were placed in the hardest group of The International 5 South East Asia qualifiers, and an overall stable presence on SEA stage, the Australian team Can't Say Wips have decided to disband and the players will be going their own separate ways.
At the SEA’s recent TI5 Qualifiers Can’t Say Wips had an impressive run given the fact they had to face the more experienced and most strongest contestants for a spot in the playoffs, MvP.Phoenix and Rave . Even so, at the end of day two for these qualifiers CSW were not to be count out as a tense tiebreaker triangle was what they had to fight out in order to remain in the race. Unfortunately they lost the entire two game series to Rave and in the end placed third in their group having to put on hold The International 5 dream.
The day started with Darcy 'Godot' Jose, one of Australia's finest DotA talents and the most famous figure from Down Under announcing his departure from the team. He was in the competitive scene since 2012 he played for teams like Natural 9 and Absolute Legends, ending up with creating his own team. Can’t Say Wips started as a full Australian project with xMusiCa, Slickz, zMuffinMan and Tiboursin forming the first iteration of the squad. Unfortunately they lacked synergy and in the end Can’t Say Wips became an Australian-Singaporean mix of players.
Doing pretty good in the SEA scene, the first sign of struggling for them came after one of the best Godot’s friends, David 'r1sk' Arnous decided to retire from the competitive scene. After many attempts to find someone who would fill the void left by r1sk, CSW found themselves playing for a long period of time only with stand-ins, one of the most known being the Orange e-Sports star, XtiNcT. This is one of the main facts that in the end lead to an invite only for the qualifiers of this year’s International as opposed to a direct invite as they were hoping.
