Summit 3: LGD wrecks iG 2-0 for the final playoffs spot

Cleaning up iG in a convincing fashion in game one, LGD had a tougher game two against their countrymen but came out on top anyway. Winning the series 2-0, LGD will be heading to the playoffs in which they will face Vici Gaming in the first round.

Unfortunately for Invictus Gaming, their journey in The Summit 3 has come to an end.

Day 4 schedule:

18:30-21:00: VG vs LGD
21:00-23:30: Secret vs EG
00:00-02:30: Playoffs lower bracket round one
02:30-05:00: Playoffs winner bracket finals

Game 1

Game one between LGD and Invictus Gaming ended rather quickly as iG has no answers for LGD's carry Pugna who got his Mekansm very early in the game. Reliant on a lot of spell casters, iG had problems engaging onto Pugna's Netherward even during the laning phase.

Starting out in the offlane with Rubick and Lina as his support, the triple ranged heroes held back the Centaur's farm. LGD's early ganks on the middle lane was also successful, slowing down the Queen of Pain's progression as well.

Holding on to their advantage, LGD grouped up as five to push towers and they barely faced any retaliation while doing so. By 10 minutes, LGD was three towers up and had their eyes set on the top tier two. iG was slightly more ready to defend their top tier two but LGD's Bristleback was too much for them to handle. The Mekansm also made sure it took a long time for iG to even kill a support.

In a last ditch effort, iG tried for a wrap around when LGD sieged the bottom tier two but they failed to capitalize on that too. LGD spotted the iG smoke and wiped them, forcing them to call the "gg" before the timer hits 20 minutes.

Game 2

Similar to game one, LGD prioritized their Rubick and Lina picks and justifiably so considering the havoc they caused early in game two. After helping Razor secure the First Blood on the middle lane, LGD's duo support rotated to the bottom lane and killed Clinkz twice via the Surge to Telekinesis combo.

With nowhere to go or rather no objective to complete, iG pushed mid with 3 Chen creeps but the push was easily halted by the spams from Lina, Rubick and Razor. So, instead of pushing, they tried using the Clinkz as bait to win a teamfight and although they were able to kill Dark Seer before they went on Clinkz, they overstayed their welcome. LGD's Ember, equipped with a haste rune and Ion Shell tore through the iG formation resulting in four deaths.

Despite that, iG was resilient in staying aggressive but LGD was almost always one step faster than iG in regards to providing back up and pushing out the lanes. LGD quickly placed deep wards in iG's jungle and did not make any major mistakes to entertain the possibility of a comeback for iG.

LGD starved iG's in their base and waited patiently to get the Roshan before pushing attempting to siege high ground. However, iG managed to mount up quite a defense and only lost their ranged barracks in exchange for Razor's Aegis. Not feeling comfortable after that exchange, LGD backed off and waited another 8 minutes for the next Roshan but in that time, iG sensed the fear in LGD and started farming outside their base.

The stand off began and it took both teams almost 15 minutes before the next fight outside of LGD's base. iG smoked and performed a wrap around but despite killing off the Lina and the Rubick, the three cores of LGD went in for a 3v5 and to much surprise, came out victorious. LGD quickly pushed middle and then bottom shortly after for the game.
