Summit 3: VG destroys Cloud 9 in under 35 minutes, guaranteed playoffs spot

Earlier today, Vici Gaming dominated Rave in a total of 47 minutes but their series against Cloud 9 was unexpectedly shorter totaling up to 34 minutes and 47 seconds. Vici Gaming played an outstanding Bounty Hunter and Alchemist in game one and used the aura strat to perfection in game two.

With the two wins, Vici Gaming has guaranteed themselves a spot in the playoffs of The Summit 3.

You can read all about the games below.

Day two of The Summit 3 will feature the winner bracket of Group B of The Summit 3.

Day 2 schedule:
18:30-21:00: Secret vs iG
21:00-23:30: LGD vs Not Today
00:00-02:30: Winner of first series vs winner of second series

Game 1

The perfect counter can be used to describe Vici Gaming's draft in game one against Cloud 9. Knowing that they would go for the Chen, Vici Gaming picked Bounty Hunter to slow down his progression and it worked like wonder. C9's Chen ended up laning on the offlane and while he managed to get some levels, he was nowhere near as effective as a normal Chen would be.

Having the better line-up for an early push, Cloud 9 stuck to their plan and initiated a push but their aggressiveness was easily repeled by Leshrac and the lurking Bounty Hunter. While Bounty Hunter did not get much experience nor farm in the early game, he caught up very quickly after participating in several fights that went in Vici Gaming's way.

Desperate to make something happen, C9 attempted to Roshan but the plan was foiled by the Alchemist. The resulting fight went 3-0 in favour of VG and that was when the snowball started rolling.

At that point, Vici Gaming heroes were too farmed and too tanky to engage upon and the flow of the game was dictated by Vici Gaming. Vici Gaming seized control of the map and outfarmed C9 even more. A final battle on the 19th minute mark ended in four dead on C9 side and VG immediately pushed into base. Unable to stop the push, C9 surrendered.

Game 2

Vici Gaming built their draft around the Drow Ranger this game. Alongside their triple range aggressive trilane, they were able to totally shut down Cloud 9's trilane and even forced the Lone Druid to have no creep kills 3 minutes in. The damage output from the Visage, Pugna and Rubick was so high, they were able to kill the bear multiple times on top of Keeper of the Light and Lone Druid himself.

Axe played by Iceiceice also had a fantastic time on the bottom lane against the bOne7's Broodmother as he was able to farm an 8 minutes Blink Dagger with ease. He showed off his shiny Blink Dagger in an engagement on the top lane which resulted in four death on C9 side for a Rubick denial to the neutral creep.

After Rubick respawned, he managed to steal Lone Druid's  Summon Spirit Bear and that helped VG to push down towers after towers easily. The gold and experience deficit got worse and worse for Cloud 9 from there until they finally called the "gg" at 14 minutes.
