For better or for worse, Techies is now added to the main Dota 2 client. Along with the bomb duo comes the All Random Deathmatch mode, achievement trophies as well as an All Hero challenge.
Some people could not wait to see the addition of the Goblin Techies, infamous hero from WarCraft 3's custom map Defense of the Ancients Allstars. Others were quite content waiting forever before the bomber would ever see the dawn of the game. As promised in the stretch goals before The International, the hero is now here at least and was already demonstrated during the all-star match in Seattle.
In the past, certain pros have been seen trying out the hero on a competitive level, such as Merlini, DeMoN, Wagamama and Badburn. Given, the game is played quite differently today so time will tell how the hero will be taken on in tournaments. Certain combinations spell mayhem such as Dark Seer's Vacuum into a mine field, Pudge hooking into mines or Vengeful Spirit using Nether Swap to position her foe right on top of the explosives.
Techies skill set:
LAND MINES – Place an invisible bomb that automatically explodes when an enemy steps near.
STASIS TRAP – Set a hidden trap to stun your foes.
SUICIDE SQUAD, ATTACK! – Sacrifice yourself for the greater good, inflicting massive damage to nearby enemies.
REMOTE MINES & FOCUSED DETONATE – Place stealthy remote explosives in strategic locations then, when the time is right, use Focused Detonate to set them off.

Other features of the 500mb patch are
- All random deathmatch - Every player gets assigned a random hero and each time you die, you get assigned a new hero until every hero has been used.
- Achievements trophies - Certain tasks now scores you trophies, such as for instance winning a Fantasy League.
- All hero challenge - The challenge simply consists of playing (and winning) with every single hero in Dota 2.
- Flashier streak announcements - Landing a multi-kill with now come with more apparent visual effects. (TI4 compendium users only)
- Assured victory shouts - Equip and use the victory shout before the horns even rang to predict yourself as the winner of a match. Successful prediction gives points. (TI4 compendium users only)
- TI music pack - Access the International musc pack. (TI4 compendium users only)
It's going to be explosive.
