Alliance defeats C9 2-0, final match of the day postponed

After that performance in game 2, Alliance defeated Cloud 9 in an 80-minute match and secured a spot in the semi-finals with a 2-0 score. They will be facing Invictus Gaming in semi-finals in another best of three match.

Since the last game of the play-off was postponed the match between Na'Vi and EG will be held tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. The winner in this match will play against Fnatic in the semi-finals.

1st - $80,000+
2nd - $40,000+
3rd-4th - $20,000+
5th-8th - Europe mousesports, China Vici Gaming, International Cloud9 - $10,000+

Game 1:

Alliance dominated the first game with the excellent synergy of their lineup. They picked up the classic Chaos Knight-Wisp combo along with Clockwerk, Storm Spirit, and Skywrath Mage. Cloud9 also picked up a pretty good lineup with Tinker, Nyx Assassin, Lion, Jakiro, and Brewmaster. Initially, Cloud9's lineup had more advantage in the game with Brewmaster and Tinker who were both good in split pushing and picking off heroes. But Alliance was able to shut down Tinker in the early game and pushing the bottom tier-1 tower with Chaos Knight and Wisp in bottom lane.

Clockwerk also played very aggressively and he was able to execute his Hookshots well. Clockwerk's Hookshots followed up by either Storm Spirit or SkyWrath Mage helped in gaining full map control. They were able to picked off heroes and they continued to shut down Cloud 9. Alliance also got Roshan 23 minutes in the game.

Even though Tinker managed to catch up with his items, it was already too late and Cloud 9 was not able to manage to hold on. Most of Alliance's heroes had their BKB's which made them endure Cloud 9's burst damage. There was a 10K gold lead for Alliance and Cloud 9 called gg on the 33 minute mark with a 13-34 kill score.

Game 2:

Cloud 9 was very determined to win against Alliance during the second match and they played safely during the early game. They already knew that Alliance's Nature's Prophet and Wisp can shut them down like during the first game with their map control potential. Cloud 9 patiently waited for Void and Ember Spirit to have enough farm before engaging. Alliance was slowly picking up their advantage with their Wisp and Nature's Prophet Combo. But it was during the mid-game where Alliance got picked off easily with a couple of fail Relocates and Void's Chrono followed-up by Ember Spirit. Enigma's Black Hole also contributed to Cloud 9's advantage.

With Cloud 9 finally gained their momentum, they continued to win team fights and from a 12 thousand gold deficit, they managed to bring it down until they were leading the game. However, it was Alliance's turn to be patient and executed their signature playstyle. Nature's Prophet bought Manta Style and Necronomicon-- he had a total of eight core items-- to help with pushing lanes. Alliance was able to destroy Cloud 9's top and bottom barracks.

Both teams were biding their time to get a good team fight. Cloud 9 had their chance when they managed to kill Nature's Prophet and Wraith King. They were almost at the throne but Alliance retaliated and continued pushing until Cloud 9 surrendered and called 'gg' after 80-minute mark.
