LGD vs Vici Gaming: Chinese Dota

Game 1

It did not take a very long time for the First Blood to come. Wisp played by ddc got a little over aggressive on the bottom lane and with two Vici Gaming supports unexpectedly lurking in the fog of war, Rubick Telekinesis him and Vici Gaming finished him off with the Soul Assumption. Due to some bad luck plus smart warding from Vici Gaming, Crystal Maiden, one of the three trilane heroes also suffered and smoked towards the top lane to assist Doom in taking down the Lone Druid.

After the first two engagements, the game stayed relatively quiet for the next couple of minutes until the 8th. With both teams gathered on the middle lane. Kunkka played by Super got caught out farming on the river. Bristleback teleported in to join the fight but he overextended instead and died before Kunkka went down. Rubick also went down trying to kill the Dragon Knight who barely escaped on 80 hp. The Rubick could have Fade Bolt the Dragon Knight but for unknown reasons, opted to Bolt the Doom instead, thus, missing the kill.

Tiny neck-to-neck with LD. 42 minutes.

At 13 minutes, the focus was shifted towards the Radiant bottom tier-one where Vici Gaming dived Dragon Knight on the bottom lane only to have Yao standing his ground and fighting three heroes. His bravery allowed his supports to come in and when the battle ended, Vici Gaming found four of their heroes dead. Despite having double the amount of kills over Vici Gaming, LGD only had a meager 500 gold lead over their fellow countrymen. This was mostly attributed to the Lone Druid who has been left free-farming the whole game. Sylar got his Radiance at 17 minutes. Vici Gaming got LGD's two bottom towers without resistance on its debut.

Feeling confident about their chances, Vici Gaming went into the Roshan pit and faced a big retaliation from LGD, especially when Roshan was nearly dead. Doom turned on his Black King Bar and tried to snatch the Aegis but Sylar was a split second quicker in picking it up. The tides of the battle quickly turned and although Lone Druid did ended up using the Aegis in the battle, VG won it convincingly, killing four. VG wasted no time in throwing their small lead away when they fought LGD from a compromising downhill position twice. In both battles, VG lost three heroes.

At the end of the two silly and unnecessary fights, LGD had a commanding lead despite losing the second Roshan to Vici Gaming. With the Aegis running out, Vici Gaming went for their final push but Tiny, who was successful in avoiding the Boat and many other spells went crazy and single-handedly destroyed VG. LGD got the middle melee barracks after the fight. LGD waited for a few minutes before they were able to once again pick off the Bristleback and Rubick. LGD chased the rest of the VG supports back to their base and once they killed Visage, they started banging on the tier-three tower over the backdoor protection. Vici Gaming could not hold their barracks for another 30 seconds, waiting for the Bristleback to come back and threw themselves at LGD to stop the push. It was ineffective, LGD took game one.

Game 2

After losing game one, Vici Gaming wasn't fooling around in game two, picking an all-out push strategy. LGD attempted to counter-pick VG by picking up the Elder Titan but it was to no avail. Post getting themselves the first and second blood of the game, VG's Vengeful Spirit and Visage rejoined Pugna on the bottom lane to push the tier-one tower. The push was successful and the tower went down at the 7th minute mark.

At 11 minutes, all of VG was gathered on the middle lane to go for another push. Taking down the tier-one tower easily, VG moved in for the tier-two but they met heavy resistance from LGD. Their skills spam was able to keep Vici Gaming at bay but Pugna was still able to Blast the tower bit by bit. Eventually, a few great swaps from the Vengeful Spirit were able to pick off the Dragon Knight multiple times, giving space for VG damage the tier-two physically. The tower was finally destroyed at 15 minutes and just two minutes later, Vici Gaming took down the tier-two on the top lane, also LGD's final outer tower on the map.

With all the outer towers down, VG killed Roshan and placed the Aegis on the Pugna. The push continued from VG but the lead was way so big that the Pugna could single-handedly solo the whole of LGD. It only took VG one minute to take down the middle melee barracks and VG went top immediately and took down the barracks while LGD watched helplessly. LGD engaged on VG after the barracks went down but they got wiped.

Game 3

Picking up yet another pushing line-up, Vici Gaming did not play their strategy so effectively in game three and was in fact being pushed back by LGD during the early stages of the game. LGD placed a triple ranged combo on their offlane with Luna as the core. The Lunar Blessing aura clearly did wonders considering these three level two heroes were able to bring down the Spirit Bear two minutes into the game.

Both teams went a little back and forth all over the map until Visage played by ddc got picked off by Vici Gaming on the top lane. The one simple mistake by ddc also caused the death of his familiars and the destruction of the top tier-one tower. Despite that, due to superior laning presence, LGD's Doom and Invoker were still leading in net worth by a big margin. 13 minutes in, both teams decided to pop a smoke and although Vici Gaming had LGD surrounded, LGD was able to outlast their opponent because of their heroes are sheer tank. LGD nearly lost the Visage (escaped with 30 hp) and on VG's side, they lost three, including the Nature's Prophet.

With the small lead they have, LGD pushed the bottom lane and got both the tier-two and tier-three towers. On their retreat, LGD thought of going into Roshan but teleported Luna to defend the top lane and VG seized the opportunity to go into the Rosh pit instead. Luna came running to the Rosh pit but once she arrived, Nature's Prophet teleported top to split push again. LGD had the choice to engage VG in that 15 seconds window but they decided against it. 30 seconds later, they had no choice but to send Luna back again and VG got the Rosh kill.

Difference in gold at 36 minutes.

VG felt a little more secured after the Aegis pick-up and went for a push on the bottom lane. A big fight broke out at the Radiant bottom tier-two and LGD was able to burst down the Lone Druid fairly quickly. When all things were about to go LGD's way, the Rubick stole Luna's Eclipse and turned the tides for VG. Vici Gaming got a tier-two tower off that but did not opt for the tier-three. Nothing much happened until the next Roshan and Vici Gaming used the same strategy they did in their last Roshan encounter. Sending the Luna back to base again, Luna defended for three seconds before running straight for the Rosh pit to stop VG's attempt. Luna did not get there in time but Invoker, showing off his new Refresher Orb destroyed VG by dropping two Meteors and two Deafening Blasts just as Roshan fell. While Sylar did pick up the Aegis, he lost it immediately.

The game once again became a big stand-off until LGD finally picked off the Nature's Prophet. LGD quickly moved to push the bottom lane and because the Prophet had only 20 seconds before he respawns, VG gave away both barracks on the bottom lane. LGD moved to the top lane shortly after and the final fight broke out in which LGD won without losing a single hero.
