LGD thrashes Fnatic on their way to D2L WB final

Exhausted from their trip to Vegas, LGD wasted no time in disposing Fnatic to the lower bracket and secured their spot in the winner bracket final of D2L season 4.  LGD can now have a good night rest and come back tomorrow to face their fellow countrymen in the winner bracket final tonight at 21:00 CET. Fnatic on the other hand will be facing elimination against Alliance momentarily.

Fnatic vs LGD: A one-sided series

Game 1

Prior to the game, Fly said that they have not trained with Aui_2000 and DeMoN prior to the tournament and the absent of their missing teammates can be felt worldwide. LGD opted for a heavy pushing line-up and weirdly enough, Fnatic went for a pick-off line-up and their decision to do this resulted in a 16 minutes "gg" from the team.

The only time Fnatic was really leading in the match was when they smoked and pick up the First Blood on the Venomancer on the top lane. On the other side of the map, on the bottom lane, Trixi's Slark was getting heavily harassed by the Visage and the Bane Elemental, resulting him in burning through all his consumables in just two minutes. Coupled with the Necrophos, LGD pushed the bottom lane and got both the towers before the 5 minutes.

The death push squad eventually grouped up at mid for another push but Fnatic used Glyph and engaged on Venomancer in an attempt to stop the push. The fight escalated into a 4-2 exchange in favour of LGD after Storm Spirit was burst down by the Chinese supports. The game took an even steeper dip after that clash and LGD found themselves pushing top and winning another exchange. Fnatic's insistence on defending their outer towers when they clearly couldn't widen the gap between the two teams and by 15 minutes, LGD was already knocking on Fnatic's front door. One minute later, after losing yet another battle, n0tail was the first to concede.

Game 2

Throughout the early phase of game two, there were a lot of exchanges and both teams were pretty even in terms of gold. While LGD was almost always in the lead, their overextension led them to several near comebacks by Fnatic. Razor died thrice, in the first 15 minutes of the game with the first, while he was chasing a doomed Outworld Devourer past the enemy tier-two tower. Outworld Devourer was denied.

Ward placement at 27 minutes

The game got a little scary for LGD fans from 8-15 minutes game time because Trixi's Nature's Prophet was single handedly outmaneuvering LGD. After sniping the courier in the Dire jungle, Trixi was involved in many fights in which his timely Sprout(s) saved his teammates in many occasion. Apart from that, Fnatic was also denying the heroes that were doomed as well as their tier-one towers. Just when the game was on its tipping point, a fight on the bottom lane decided the pace of the game. LGD attempted to push the bottom tier-one and Rubick, Outworld Devourer and Nature's Prophet attempted to defend it. They nearly killed Razor and all three defenders perished for a 3-0 exchange.

From then onwards, LGD had control of the map and placed offensive wards all over to decide whether they should Relocate. They were able to get a few pick-offs and that eventually led to a Roshan kill. With the Aegis on the Lifestealer, LGD pushed middle and destroyed the melee barracks before they retreated. Fnatic was quick to respond and picked off the retreating Doom and Crystal Maiden and a minute later, the Lifestealer and the Io. That quickly transitioned into a Fnatic push but a buyback from Lifestealer was able to stop the push.

LGD went for the second Roshan at 35 minutes but found out that they could not fearing Nature's Prophet split push. The Chinese roamed around for five minutes until they found Nature's Prophet and killed him. Despite having a buyback, Trixi decided against it and watched his bottom barracks fall. He tried to split push but a Relocate gank from the Lifestealer and Io quickly ended the push.

The game was more or less over at this point. A few minutes later, LGD opted to push the top lane and forced the "gg".
