EMS One: Group stage over, Sigma last to make it

The group stage of the RaidCall EMS One is finally over and done with as former Flip.Sid3, now Sigma, and Menace have played the last match of Group B.

After being postponed numerous times, the match deciding the sixth and final playoff participant eventually has gone down. While Sigma have previously shown their capabilities in their highly contested series against Alliance, Menace had a more strenuous time with aAa in the losers match.

Sigma vs Menace: New name, same result for former Flip.Sid3

Sigma facing off against Menace is a match we have seen in this very group before, with then Flip.Sid3 beating the Finns 2-0. This might be one of the reason Sokshka considered giving Menace a head start by running straight into a cluster of their heroes before the creeps even spawned. Fortunately for him, however, he managed to escape just barely, leaving the First Blood for his teammate paS to take. The German, once again putting on a stellar performance (one that he would repeat in the second game), turned the bot lane into a high-octane battleground with his two opening kills. The scoreboard remained even, until the first major engagement turned the game into Sigma's favor. Menace, however, managed to get a lead in terms of kill count following a Roshan fight, but Sigma's high mobility allowed them to push for towers more effectively. This resulted in a gold lead, eventually giving them a heads up in the later team fights. The logical conclusion was a 34 minute "gg."

Much more one-sided turned the second half out to be, even though the length of 30 minutes falsely indicates a more balanced match. The combination of a Shadow Shaman and a Gyrocopter, coupled with a fortunate first Invisible rune made for an easy First Blood on lapiz' Vengeful Spirit. He would not recover from this early set back, eventually turning into nothing but gun fodder to the entire enemy team. Similar to Game 1, Sigma split pushed smartly, while taking reasonable engagements the entire time. Once again, the shining player of the match was paS, utilizing his freshly buffed Shadow Shaman to push towers, zone out and lock down enemies for his teammates to kill, as well as climb to the top of the scoreboard himself.

This concludes the group stage of the European leg of the RaidCall EMS One, with the qualifying teams being Na'Vi and Fnatic from Group A, Alliance and Sigma from Group B and Team Empire and mousesports from Group C. The date and location of the offline finals, however, are yet to be disclosed.
