EMS One: No upsets in Group C

The group stage of Raidcall EMS One speeds towards its end, Tuesday night three games in a row to decide who the next two teams in the quarter finals are. The match between F3 and Menace of group B is still outstanding.

As upsets were remarkably slim so far in the EMS One, both mousesports and Team Empire hoped to keep it that way. Monday was a start in the right direction for either of those teams, as they beat Property and Power Rangers 2:0 respectively. While the previous matches were interrupted by the 6.79 update two days ago, all four teams now had to show their prowess within the new patch.

Mousesports vs Team Empire: Mouz too aggressive for their own good

Starting into the final regular day of matches, we saw a hero who has been anxiously awaited for the new update. Nightstalker set the tone for the game early on as the first night cycle was a call for mouz to go into hyper-aggression. Despite having accumulated a slight lead up to this point, their hastily executed approach to find early kills was annihilated by Empire. From here on out the game was a fast-paced one, but losing team fights over and over again put the nail in the coffin for the Danish side.

The lack of thorough planning from mouz showed itself once again in the second game, as sloppy deaths and inferior farm put their opponents in control of the game. syndereN's Clockwerk, initially picked to counter Doom in the mid lane, showed himself to be dead weight throughout the game. By utilizing an aura-heavy line-up, Empire came out ahead in most team-fights, especially during a complete wipe at around 39:30, which lead to the "gg" shortly after.

Property vs Power Rangers: Two sides of a coin

Power Rangers tried to set the tempo early, by ganking the mid lane with the help of Enchantress and Spirit Breaker within the first few minutes. While successful the first time around, Property quickly saw through their plans and managed to retaliate during each following attempt from there on out. During all that, cYso and his Anti-Mage had a lane for his lonesome, but his help was hardly even needed to lead Property to a quick 19 minute victory.

Game 2 was the complete opposite from the first one; it was determined by a general passiveness from both teams. Trades, that ended evenly or in slight favor of Property, didn't give any team a clear advantage, as the net worth remainded comparably close throughout the game. It was a single key engagement that was lost by Power Rangers and cost them two lanes of Barracks, putting them seriously on the back foot for the first time. As Super Creeps constantly pushed into the top lane whenever PR tried to move out on the map, the eventual "gg" was forced at 50 minutes.

Property vs mousesports: Property's shot at revenge

The same match-up that opened for the group proved also to be its last. The Swedish hopes, however, should soon be dampered after a swift 17 minute win by mouz in Game 1. The return of Shadow Shaman in the mid lane, induced by the latest changes to his ultimate, put the unsuspecting Shadow Fiend in his place by gathering the First Blood as well as a follow-up kill with the help of Chen. From here on out, it was a one-sided game, as the numerous kills on Property were only amplified by Ace's impeccable use of Bounty Hunter's Track ability.

Just like the previous match, a stomp, for lack of a better term,  is followed by a long, drawn-out game. In what could be described as a miracle of farming power, mouz managed to keep the net lead, despite poor trades right from the start. Especially Bloodseeker was picked up unnecessarily often while farming, but mouz somehow still managed to win the one decisive battle that would win them the game: a won fight at the Roshan pit in combination with new additive buyback-timer gave the Danes the space to push for Barracks, during which they had the best team-fights of the entire game, pushing Property to tap-out at 53 minutes.

With five of the six European quarterfinalists decided, the only remaning match is Flip.Sid3 against Menace of Group B. It is scheduled to be played at 8 pm CET on Thursday.
