Following the withdrawal of Rox.Kis, Alliance became the second qualified team to drop out of the playoffs stage of EMS One Summer. Rat in the Dark, Infernity, and Imaginary Gaming will be the three teams qualifying for the LAN finals through the third place decider.
Despite having all the reasons to attend the LAN finals, Alliance has decided not to travel to Poland for the playoffs stage of EMS One Summer. After a surprise defeat against Mousesports that sent them packing very early on last time, one would expect them to show up with revenge in mind, but that is not the case. GosuGamers has reached out to Alliance and the withdrawal was confirmed. The team has yet to release an official statement regarding this decision, but it could be said that they want to train more in preparation for the upcoming TI3.
Due to Alliance and Rox.Kis dropping out, EMS has decided to allow three of the third place decider - between four teams - to go through to the playoffs but that did not work out as well. Netolic.RU pulled out of the decider in the final minutes because they do not think they can get their visa in time either. This means that Infernity, Rat in the Dark and Imaginary Gaming will be joining the qualified five in Poland for the LAN finals.
Qualified teams:
Evil Geniuses
Quantic Gaming
Fnatic.eu
Flip.Sid3 Tactics
Mousesports
Infernity
Rat in the Dark
Imaginary Gaming
