A majority of the community would have expected to see the Australian side MCiTY in the play-offs, but the cunning German side stole victory from right under their noses. Having first lost to MYM for the third place spot, MCiTY were sent running to the 'loser-bracket' final against LAN, where they eventually lost 2-0.

In both games, LAN looked very much in control. They stuck to their targets and did the basics right. In game one, a superb Viper from hexOr tore apart his rival solo, Beastmaster and therefor set a solid base from which to work from. Kev-^ also played extremely well in nullifying Chawy's Necrolyte. The game was quite lengthy, primarily due to the fact that Shatan gave a relatively decent performance and later proved to be a thorn in the Sentinel's side. LAN's strong start proved to be the winning factor as Viper and Slardar seemed to be too tank for the Scourge to contend with.

Game two saw a very unusual pick from MCiTY in the form of Bristleback. Quite an intelligent pick if one is to consider that MCiTY required an aggresive and tankish hero to insure that they were the ones that initiated. Bristleback proved to be an important factor in the game. Once he had Radiance, the Scourge were forced to keep their wits about them for fear of losing their more fragile heroes. Regardless, Kev-^ had yet another outstanding game with his Earthshaker this time around. Coupled with Beastmaster's map control, LAN were once again able to create a stranglehold on their opposition in the early stages of the game. A well farmed Morphling tore through Sentinel's fragile heroes, while PoTM's Stygian Desolator was able to keep Bristleback at bay. Out farmed and out played, LAN emerged victorious once again.

GosuGamers had the chance to speak to LAN captain, moods, after the game:
How did you prepare for the match against the Australian team MCiTY?
-"We didn’t do any special preparation. I watched the game between MCiTY and MYM and I wondered about their performance, since I had MCiTY way stronger in my mind. We thought about a special Pick/Ban strategy, because they are known for maverick strategies (for example Omni Knight + Ursa). But we decided to stick to our play style and depending on the outcome of the first game, we would adjust our strategy. Since we won the first game, there was no doubt in our play style."
How do you see your chances in the upcoming encounters? Especially since your opponents are the top European clans at the moment.
We are definitely the underdog in this cup and I think DDT and Nirvana.Int will take the role as favorites. But I think we can beat everyone at the moment; DDT blundered against TeG yesterday and Nirvana.Int is not that dominant anymore since they do not practice. We wouldn’t play if I thought we didn’t have any chances.
What has happened to DeMeNt?
Due to time problems and personal issues, DeMeNt is not in the team any more. We are currently four players and are forced to play with standins, but I hope to announce our official fifth player very soon.
Is hexOr officially back?
hexOr is going to write his last exam this Wednesday, so the hexOr fanboys can finally be relieved.
Thanks for the interview, good luck in the tournament with 3000€ prize money. Any last shoutouts?
Thanks! Shoutout to my team, our fans and supporters and all the guys being our standins (KuroKy, Sh1lla and all the others I forgot to mention). Wir sind krass, vergesst das nicht!
The stage has been set and the players have been chosen. The only thing that remains is the question upon the tongues of every DotA fan: Who will emerge as the Farm 4 Fame champion? Will it be the expected Nirvana.int vs DDT face-off, or will MYM/LAN come from behind and prove all their critics wrong? Unfortunately, only time will tell, but be sure to stay tuned to GosuGamers.net for all your DotA coverage.
