VeryGames, NiP, fnatic and n!faculty have decided to pull out of the new season to put all their efforts in preparations for DreamHack Winter, which means that Astana Dragons are the only team remaining from last season's LAN finals. To replace the departed ones, the organisers decided to invite the ESWC 2013 champions Clan-Mystik, as well as LGB eSports, iNation, mousesports, ENCE eSports and Nostalgie.

The two sides who managed to qualify in SLTV StarSeries VIII are momomo and ELTZ, the Danish team managing to win the SLTV ProSeries VII, while the Russian team finished in second place.
