Loda’s stack win the first open qualifiers for The International 7

Stepping down from Alliance not even two weeks ago, Loda put together a team of friends to compete in The International 2017 European open qualifiers.

On the 9th of June Jonathan 'Loda' Berg announced his indefinite break time from competitive play, stepping down from the Alliance after nearly five years of captaining and carrying the Swedish squad towards all the possible achievements a team could dream of. The International 7 invites and qualifiers were only a few weeks away when Loda stepped down and Alliance was forced to fight for a ticket to Seattle from the open qualifiers. However, the Swedes chose even an easier path to regionals, by playing the Champions Cup qualifier leg, competition which they won without a problem.

As the open qualifiers approached, Loda decided to give it a shot with a team that has little to no experience together, although a few of its players used to fight under the same banner at certain points in time. Aydin 'iNsania' Sarkohi and Micke 'miCKe' Nguyen are part of the recently let go roster of Ninjas in Pyjamas, Niclas 'Niqua' Westergård has played for Alliance and with Loda back in 2015 while the Romanian support  Alexandru 'ComeWithMe' Craciunescu  is a well-known figure among all the veterans, being around since TI 1 when he was in fact the first Romanian to reach the high end competitions.

Advancing in the regional qualifiers with All Fam, Loda, the co-owner of Alliance will be playing now against his very own team. Even more, he will go head to head with his life-time friend and now business partner, Joakim 'Akke' Akterhall who is at the same time co-owner of Alliance and member of Crescendo, a mix of Danish and Swedish players featuring the likes of Jerry 'EGM' Lundkvist and Troels 'syndereN' Nielsen.

Looking at the current Alliance roster we will notice that none of the TI3 Champion players are to be found. Instead, all of them are now fighting through open or regional qualifiers against the team that they built together years back. The only one missing from regional qualifiers right now is Henrik 'AdmiralBulldog' Ahnberg who chose to reward a few of his stream subscribers in the first wave of open qualifiers. Going with four of his fans in the opens, Bulldog reached top 32 and now he plans to give it a shot in the second wave with a stack that will include WehSing 'SingSing' Yuen and  Antonio 'canceL^^' Mihai.

If AdmiralBulldog does get through the open qualifiers #2, there will be a fully fledged #AllianceFighting showdown in the European Regional Qualifiers. The second wave of European Open Qualifiers will commence later today and will end tomorrow evening. Don’t forget that this is a competition where everyone can sign up freely to test their strength against some of the best pro players in the scene, so what are you waiting for?
