The jD MLG Pro League #2 SEA Qualifiers have finished and Team Malaysia have qualified for the LAN event at X-Games after overcoming MVP.Hot6ix in the finals (2-1).
After a successful first event, Join Dota and MLG are back with the second edition of their league featuring the same prize pool of $75,000 and the LAN Finals will be held at X-Games Austin on 5 June this time around. This time the qualifier format has been changed, it features a Double Elimination "Step" Bracket across all regions instead of a League Format. Two teams have been invited; Evil Genuises and Team Empire, the other six will be selected through regional qualifiers.
The American and European Qualifiers are already underway and the South East Asia Qualifiers have finished. A final between Team Malaysia and MVP.Phoenix was predicted, but Phoenix got stopped in the second round by their sister team MVP.Hot6ix. The Heen lead team beat Phoenix cleanly (2-0) for the first time in five meetings and moved on to the next round. But the team was stopped dead in its tracks in the finals when they lost to Team Malaysia 1-2. This will be the fifth International LAN that Team Malaysia have qualified from the South East Asian Region.
