With a solid 2-0 victory in their last match, DK managed to crush HGT's dreams of advancing in StarLadder XII. Instead, VG and NewBee will continue in the competition, joining LGD and iG in the next phase of the tournament.
The first phase of StarLadder XII is well under way, with both America and China having finished their respective phase one matches. Earlier today, Team DK managed to eliminate HyperGloryTeam from the competition by taking them down with a 2-0 score. While DK did not have a chance of surviving the first phase, HGT could have stolen the second place from NewBee with a 2-0 victory. However, they were unprepared to face the new DK roster who sent them home early.
With the defeat of their rivals HGT, NewBee managed to maintain their second place, and they have advanced with a 2-1 score under ViCi Gaming. As for Group A, iG had an impressive undefeated run and secured a spot in phase two without breaking a sweat. They will be followed by the revamped LGD who finished their matches with two victories. The next round is scheduled to kick-off on March 24th, with the four teams battling for the two Bucharest spots in a double-elimination bracket.
As for the other regions, the third European group will join the action today, starting with the match between Cloud9 and Scaryfacezzz at 17:00 CET. The second phase of the American qualifiers will begin on March 22nd, while the games of SEA Group B will take place on March 25th.
