Cassandra: It's meant for the smaller teams to participate
Despite having a three-man roster, the brought-to-life WarCraft 3 squad of MeetYourMakers will not play in the upcoming NGL 3on3 league.
When shifting from a for-fun 4on4 competition to a 3-man-knockout system, the NGL administration supposedly hoped for a team sheet filled with star studded teams. But they will have to make way without the MYM trio Grubby, Happy and Ciara. Recently appointed team manager Cassandra "PpG" Ng spoke to WC3L about their future plans, whereas the NGL team competition was not in them.
- [...] we have a very small roster, usually 2 players is already enough to play WC3L. We decided not to take part in NGL team league as it's meant for the smaller teams to participate, commented Cassandra.
When the NGL administration announced the changes of the team competition, the target group was semi-professional and casual teams.
- We decided to keep the team competition alive for interested teams but know that, due to the changes, the target group will change to semi-professional and casual teams, could be read in the press release.
Main focus will be WC3L
Allegedly, the team's main focus will be the forthcoming WC3L season. Cassandra is confident that her team can at least make it to the playoffs, and they are aiming for a top 3 position.
- The competition is very good as most of the other teams also have very good line-up. The first place could go to any team who is in shape during the play-offs, said Cassandra.
World Elite most flexible and most feared
They fear World Elite the most due to the Chinese having the biggest roster. Housing a total of 9 players, where 5 are among the 30 best ranked players, World Elite will, admitted by many team managers, a too fast-running train to stop.
- It would be hard to predict which players they will use, as their big roster will allow them more flexibility, said Cassandra.
On Wednesday, February 25, Schenkhuizen, Kostin and Krag will go head to head against mTw in the first round of the long awaited fifteenth season of WC3L.
