WCG08: Rendezvous at 12:00 for playoffs

We are now able to see who are the 16 players that form the WCG 2009 Grand Final Playoff, but it wasn’t without a good show; Three tiebreakers, WhO defeated by the Chinese player Like, Grubby’s Demolishers against Infi’s buildings and the Spanish sensation LucifroN going out on top of his group. With these performances, we already know what the playoff tree look like and here is a little sneak-peak of it.

Fun Facts

Night-Elf still dominates in population with 6 representants, followed by 4 Orcs. Humans and Undead are below with 3 players each.

Unusual thing, there is only one Korean in the playoffs but nevertheless; there is 2 Chinese players. Russia has 3 players; XyLigan, Happy and Nicker.

Half of the players plus one that were able to access this stage are new to WCG. Nightwolf, Like, Happy, TeD, S.o.K.o.L, Bonecracker, Nicker, kim and LucifroN.

Since 2005, it’s the first WCG without the Chinese player Sky. In 2004, he could have entered the tournament, but due to some visa problems, he was unable to compete.

WarCraft entered WCG in 2003 with Reign of Chaos. Manuel Schenkhuizen, alias Grubby, have been able to enter the tournament each year since then.
