Top favorites crumble in MGC opening

Here's a morning shocker for you. Neither Moon, Lyn or Sky advanced from the Make Games Colorful group stage earlier today.

At 03:00, the group stage for the anticipated tournament Make Games Colorful kicked off, and right away we were given surprises. Despite a very shiny participation list, title holder Lyn and last season runner-up Moon were predicted to advance to the playoff stage. However, the two's gold and silver streaks ended today.

Lyn was paired up in the three-way Korean Orc group with WhO and FoCuS. Add to that the Chinese Night Elf player suhO. The SK-Gaming star lost his two initial matches, against suhO and WhO, and had after that no chance to advance.

Group C, housing the poster boys of professional WarCraft 3 gaming, Moon and Sky, turned out to be a turn-around of what experts predicted. Although Moon managed to defeat his nemesis Sky in the opening match, he failed to advance after dropping games against FoV and TH000. Sky, entering without any confident results in previous offline tournaments, failed to advance as well after losing to Chinese Human inventor TH000.

For the European fans, SaSe was able to advance from his group after winning his last two games in the group over Check and InFi. Homefield Undead player TeD sailed through the group stage undefeated, which gave him the top spot in Group D.

Speaking of sailing through; the weakest player on paper, Ace, went undefeated in Group B and can boast with wins over Soccer, Lucifer and Fly100%. The latter mentioned swept the second place after one-zeroing both Lucifer and Soccer.
