The Electronic Sports World Cup will hold its first Masters edition within the Mondial du gaming, a world class gaming show that goes from the 4th of July to the 6th of the same month. It'll be held in the beautiful Palais Omnisports of Bercy, France; the same location were the ESWC 2006 was played. The Mondial du gaming this year will have, besides this event, tournaments open for casual gamers, the ESWC France finals, the Ipowergames finals 2008 and a games expo. More information to come soon on their webpage and on www.gaming-show.com

But what's so nifty about the ESWC Masters besides its utterly cool name? Well, it plans not only to give some decent amount of money but also the winners get a spot in the ESWC Grand Final 2008. The participants will, as usual, be from all over the world, but there are special spots reserved only for the French participants.

The official ESWC games will all be present, from Warcraft 3 to Trackmania Nations, including DotA. For Warcraft 3, the tournament will be fought between 20 participants, four of which must be from the land of the Franks, 16 will be international players that'll be selected from their applications; and the top three will be the lucky ones to get an autoberth for the Grand Final. Remember that you may apply from March 20 to May 20, where the announcement will be made on the 28th to see who will be the international players going at it.

Regarding the prize money, it looks as follow:

1. $2,500
2. $1,500
3. $1,000

We are looking forward to what promises to be a very entertaining event. Keep tuned to GosuGamers for updates and coverage.
