Norway's best go at it in the well-known LAN to battle for the World Cyber Games spot and a prize sum.
The Gathering is a Norwegian LAN that serves as the regional qualifier for Norway to the World Cyber Games so to say. For the past three years, it has been WCG's reigning and inactive champion, Olav "Creolophus" Undheim who has won this tournament, not only gaining his entrance to the most prestigious gaming tournament out there, but also some money.
This time is no different, The Gathering will host both WarCraft 3 and Counter-Strike for the Norwegians to battle it out for some money and a free trip to Cologne this November. Considering that Creolophus is no longer an active player, this opens up the door for others to claim the tournament.
The prize money for Warcraft looks like this:
1. 10.000
2. 3.000
3. 1.000
Keep in mind that this purse will be handed out in Norwegian Kroner. In total the prize money sums up to 1,700€.
