Extreme Masters Season II Finals

The second season of the Exteme Masters will end within the next days. The finals start tomorrow in Hanover, Germany, at the CeBIT.

ToD
Defending champion ToD - will he repeat his Exteme Masters success?

Overall 10 players qualified for the playoffs and you can be sure to see absolute world class matches. Big names like Lyn or Lucifer, who qualifies directly at the Extreme Masters Global Challenge in Los Angeles or ToD will be fighting for an overall prize of $47,000.

The 10 participants are divided into 2 groups of 5 players each, where the first qualified for a doulbe elemination playoff while the second and third of the groups have to fight out the other two players who will advance. This will be a tough task for each player, the groups are strong and for advancing everyone will need a good day and maybe some luck aswell.

EM Season II Finals
Group A
Korea Lyn
Ukraine HoT
Netherlands Grubby
Germany Protois
Germany HasuObs
Group B
France ToD
Russia Happy
Finland elfittaja
Korea Lucifer
Poland Paladyn
Last season’s champion ToD will have to face overall three Undead players – Happy, elfittaja and Lucifer – and next to this a Nightelf – Paladyn. In the other group, the runner up of the first season, HoT, meets Grubby, Lyn, HasuObs and Protois.

Let’s have a closer look on the possible outcome of the groupstage: In Group A, the one of HoT, the favourite seems to be clear. Lyn is doing very well. But also Grubby and HoT will have good chances on finishing in top of this group. HasuObs and Protois are good players aswell, who have proven that they are able to beat almost everyone they play against, but with two Orc players in their group the Undeads might have problems.

In “ToD’s” Group B it looks like the French superstar is the favourite for the first rank, atleast if he manages to do well against Undead players. Lucifer seems to lack shape at the moment, while elfittaja and especially Happy do quite well. Less chances for advancing could be seen for Paladyn, although he showed that he could suprice every now and then.

Tomorrows groupstage matches will start at 12 CET and you can be sure to have total WarCraft 3 action until 17 CET according to the ESL TV schedule. The matches will be shown live on ESL TV, commentated by Templar and RotterdaM. The complete schedule can be found below.
