Rumors where spread as ESWC decided to move from France to California, USA, not long ago. What would the reason of that be? Well, people with a lot of understanding within this topic had the answer long before the announcement.
It's finally announced that NVidia, the huge hardware company, is sponsoring the ESWC event this year.
- NVIDIA has an international reputation for graphics excellence, so they are the ideal partner for us in this event, ESWC says in an official statement. ESWC champions rely on NVIDIA technology to give them the killer edge in competition. [...] We made the decision to move because we felt it will be great for competitors, spectators and e-sports as a whole.
- ESWC exists at a very exciting crossroads between new technology, entertainment and sport and we're delighted to welcome its Grand Finals to California in 2008, says the Senior Vice President of NVidia.
Next summer we will all be looking forward to a nice event of ESWC and NVidia in United States. For now, this is all we know.
