The Electronic Sports World Cup took place in France the last five years, but - similar to WCG - the event will move on. Next year's host city will not be Paris, but San Francisco, USA.
The World Cyber Games made this step some years ago and moved from Korea to other countries, with stops in Italy, USA (twice) and Singapore. Now the ESWC leave their homecountry France in order to organize 2008's event in the United States.
San Francisco is the city to host one of the most important eSports events taking place every year as rakaka.se and readmore.de reported. An official statement from the ESWC organisation has not been published, therefore the ESWC announced the first four game titles of next years tournament in early October.
Yet, it's only WarCraft 3, CounterStrike 1.6 male and female aswell as Trackmania Nations. Other game titles on track are Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, which is not yet in the official list because it still has to be released and some agreements with the publisher are not done yet. Next to this there will be a FPS game (i.e. Quake 4) added for sure, but it's not sure which one so far.
If StarCraft II is in stores early enough it might also be taken as second RTS game, atleast there will be many hoping so. Nontheless this is only speculations so far, let's see what comes up in future!
