5 Questions to RotterdaM, KODE5 UK runner-up

1
How come you attended the event in the UK, and not waited for the Holland event?
- The organiser of Kode5 UK was/is Protex, and when the tournament was announced he was one of the managers of fnatic. Fnatic wanted at least one player at the event and since it was cheapest to send me they asked if I wanted to go. I wasn't sure in the start but I decided to give it a go in the end because I never went to England and figured out I would have a decent chance to win it because I didn't expect anyone good besides Demuslim to show up.

And barely anybody showed up in the end, only four players, why is that? Didn't KODE5 market it enough, or is eSport not just popular in the UK?
- A combination of both I think, many people didn't know about the event and in the UK WarCraft is not really an active E-sports game I think, but that seems to be a problem of a lot of KODE5 stops. They should put it more in the spotlights, it's always so quiet around them. Why that is I wouldn't know, but in my opinion the information about the tournaments is always hard to get and their site gives an inactive impression, or atleast not very up to date, they should highlight it more I guess.

What happened in the Grand Final versus DeMusliM?
- Well, since he won the winner bracket I had to win 2 bo3's and he one, despite losing the first bo3 in the winner bracket I still had confidence and hope I was gonna win it, because I could play better than I did in that bo3 and he got a little lucky on tm with Tome of exp and vampiric aura, lost in 5 minutes to tier 1 lvl 3 am towerrush ..:).

The first game of the first bo3 in the grand final was on TM and I lost it again, basicly because I failed to keep am under lvl 3, which slowly became a mission impossible in my mind cause of militia creeping, and well Tm is supposed to be the orc map of the 3 ( tr/ei/tm ) so then I sort off lost hope and got pretty angry about the matchup but decided to cool down and just give it my best on the other 2 maps. Both games were fairly close but this times I cool delay lvl 3 am much more and was able to take the first bo3 home.

Then we had to play another bo3 on the same maps. First map was Tm again, which I lost again, not too much to say about it, there was a long fight in the middle which ended with me having to tp home and he crept 2 big spots fast after that, gave him huge advantage and his army was stronger so it was 0-1 again, which made the overall score of tm 0-3...

Game 2 was on TR which was decided by a moment late tier 1, he crept the orange spot in the middle with militia. I scouted it but very late and fs wasnt able to be there in time but my grunt was, and I stole the lvl 7 turtle with my grunt, which kept his am lvl 2 and resulted in me being able to kill some peons after that. I won the game later after having some good fights.

The final game with 1-1 in bo3's and 1-1 in maps was on EI, for the first time I wasnt sure about my creep route because I knew he would try everything to get lvl 3 am as soon as possible, so I lost time by not being sure about what to do. It were just a few seconds but that ended up in me being to late at his base, and then missed him creeping a other spot which gave his am 470 xp, he had a troll from the merc camp and dispelled a wolf and jippi, lvl 3 am, what followed was that my burrows/war mill/spirit lodge got cancelled 81 times and I lost vs towerrush later on, so he won and I lost.

How was the event location?
- The netcafe looked pretty cool and it was right in the centre so that was good. However, during the first bo3 of the winner bracket there were extremely many people in a pretty small area which made it really hot, so hot that I decided to play game 2 without headset cause I felt like passing out with that thing covering my ears and making it even more hot to my head. I lost the game in 5 minutes and we decided to wait 20/25 min for the room to cool down, then it was better and played the last game of the bo3.

Will you try to qualify from another KODE5 event, now that you failed to get the ticket to the grand final?
- Well on Sunday KODE5 Netherlands will take place as you mentioned, but I'm not sure if I will play in it, since I felt really bad after this tournament and I basicly had to throw up everytime I was thinking of WarCraft but I've had this before so I might give it a shot after all, I should feel better in some days :).
