The first day of the Extreme Masters Global Finals is laid to waste and the outcome of the four groups have been decided. Though all the Korean stars went on to the next phase of the tournament, they've encountered some heavy resistance on the way.
It was expected that the favoured Korean star players would top their respective groups. This has not been the case as the former SK player miou took down Lyn. The two MYM players Lucifer and FoCuS suffered similar fates in their groups as they lost to Hanf and KiWiKaKi, while Susiria was the only one of the Koreans who managed to dominate his group. The up and coming Canadian KiWiKaKi showed that his current top shape is not limited to online games only. Only one American made it through the group stage - Nilknarf - whereas the others, including the old school player Shortround, have been eliminated.

Playoffs commences tonight
The action in Los Angeles continues tonight as the playoff kicks off at 19:30 CET. Since the playoffs are played in Double Elimination mode, the players will have an extra shot at reaching the Grand Final in the Lower Brackets. The Koreans will sure be hungry for revenge and it is doubtful if their adversaries will be able to keep them at bay once more.
