Rated Replay: defs vs Bet 2v2's

[s]rated_replay[/s]

Playday 2 of the WC3L gave us some great games. In particular between DefiningStars and Beijing E-sports Team where defs.Rainbow, defs.MichaeL, Bet.Fov and Bet.Sweet played three good 2v2’s. Together they are Rated Replays.

If you missed those games, fear not. GosuGamers brings you a write-up and the first RR’s in a while. The replays are available in the replay section if you want to see for yourselves.

The first map

is Lost Temple. Rainbow and MichaeL starts at 12 and 9, both playing Human. Fov is Undead at 3 and Sweet is Orc at 6. defs starts with two Archmages and Footmen as they both fast expands, effectively getting them double the income compared to Bet. Fov goes Death Knight with Fiends and Sweet trains Blademaster with Grunts. Some creeping follows and Sweet barely saves his hero with a Town portal when BeT tries to creepjack ten Footmen. And that is just a taste of what is to come. defs continues to mass Footmen and a poor grunt gets into trouble by the fountain.

Sweet gets Shadow Hunter as second hero (Fov gets Lich) and trains Raiders out of two Bestiaries. While Rainbow is creeping the shop Bet attacks MichaeL and finally gets an Archmage kill. Rainbow teleports in to the rescue but before that he bought a Tome of Retraining and skills Blizzard instead. The Bet team kills two fresh Mountain Kings and sets up an expansion before retreating. The players now have their final unit mixture, Rainbow has Knights, MichaeL has Riflemen and casters, Fov has Fiends and Destroyers and Sweet has Raiders and Kodos. It’s time for the big battles, the first being in MichaeL’s base where defs clearly come out on top with three hero kills. By now defs has five incomes compared to Bet’s three. Find out how it ends by downloading the replay in the bottom of the news.

The second game

was on Twisted Meadows. Rainbow starts at 5 and MichaeL at 1, both Human again. Fov is Undead at 11 and Sweet starts at 7 as Night Elf. defs, with a huge belief they can win, they go for the quite unlikely herocombo of Blood Mage and Firelord. The Blood Mage feeds the Firelord with mana from the Demon Hunter and the Death Knight as they tower rush Sweet.

Only one tower stands after the first wave and the Firelord dies but defs press on the attack and eventually Sweet is left with only a Demon Hunter and some Wisps. Fov on the other hand had built up a sizable force and puts pressure on MichaeL. Then Fov takes the opportunity to creep while he is teching to destroyers, in the meantime Sweet sneaks up two expansions and starts feeding Fov gold. defs attacks Fov but loses almost ten Footmen for nothing, instead Fov takes down the expansion that MichaeL had built at 7. Rainbow tries with Siege Engines and, oh, do you remember that lone Demon Hunter? He is now at level six. Will he stop the Human forces? Download the replay and see for yourself.

The final game

was on Turtle Rock with defs playing Humans starting in the northwest and Bet starting in the southeast as Undeads. Yet another towerrush, but maybe a towerrush with two Pandas can end this game fast? The first attempt fails as Fov surrounds and kills MichaeL’s panda and Sweet forces Rainbow to TP out. defs stays on tier 1 and masses footmen but getting your panda surrounded doesn’t help your cause and when the humans tries to tower Sweet, Bet have pandas of their own and defs are forced to surrender.

Can you spot the pandas? We thought they where under threat of extermination.
