Norway loses to Hungary in Nations Cup

[s]event_23[/s]

The Norwegian national team received a blow from the Hungarian team. Creolophus talks to GosuGamers about the defeat.

- "I think Norway would have a good shot at winning if it was played again," he says.

Qualification Round 2 Results
Norway Norway < Hungary Hungary 1-3
Slovakia Slovakia < Croatia Croatia 1-3
Austria Austria > Latvia Latvia 3-1
Romania Romania > Bosnia and Herzegovina Bosnia and Herz. 3-1
Italy Italy vs. Finland Finland @ 19:00
Belgium Belgium vs. Spain Spain @ 20:00
Of the six nations starting in the second qualification round, only two have advanced to the third round. The national team of Norway, which can proudly boast with their Night Elf superstar Creolophus, went up against Hungary, and suffered a 1-3 defeat. Creolophus was not too happy with the result,
- "The only player I knew was DNA after playing him in inCup finals and he's a good player", he says. He adds that with Hungary beating them, they were at least better for the day.
- "But I think Norway would have a good shot at winning if it was played again", remarks Creolophus.

Creolophus went up against the Hungarian player LeaD. They played their first game on Twisted Meadows, where LeaD ended up with Undead after choosing Random.
- "I had a really got start, I got level three Panda pretty fast and won with a Bear push", says Creolophus.
Second game LeaD chose Maelstrom to play on, which wasn't in the map pool. Apparently Hungary had played it in another nation war, but after talking to the administrators it was sorted out; second map ended up to be Lost Temple instead.
- "I went random versus his orc and got close position with Human and he stole like 3 out of 4 creeps, so it was a pretty short game," says Creo.

The last game was played on Echo Isles, and LeaD once again randomed Orc.
- "...played that game pretty poorly, expected blade but he went Farseer and with wards on Shadow Hunter instead of Hex. After I defended against the grunt catapult tower push and got master talons I thought I had it and didn't camp enough.... Shit happens," smiles Olav.

Why is it that Norway have so few top players in the competitive scene?
- "There are some good Norwegian players, especially in spc. Since there are always just one spot for tournaments and things like that it's not very motivated to play as much as needed to become really good. For example EPS in Germany is a good motivation for the players who doesn't qualify for WCG or ESWC. There are few wc3 gamers left in Norway though."

The last matches in the second round will be played tonight, at 19:00 and 20:00. Make sure to place your bets in our GosuBet section!
