WC3L Playday One Summary

The first playday of the WC3L Season XI has been finished yesterday. Some surprises as well as some well expected results came up, as it is quite usual for a new season.

The new WC3L season just began, new teams, new players have been added. The teams have to see where they stand, have to see how good their opponents are. Under those circumstances, very often unexpected results can be found, and so it was this time aswell.

The most surprising team of the last season
- mousesports - for example lost to newcomer Praetoriani. Quite unexpected, wasn't it?
The current score is 3-1 in favour of Prae, while SaSe has to face Paladyn later on.
Next to the suprising lose of Season X finalist mouz, there is another question coming up with this match: What did happen to Sai and Fly100%, the Chinese players of mousesports? Many fans expected them to help the German based team a lot, but they have not been used in any match yet. Rumors say them leaving the team, but yet there is no official statement.

Another unexpected happening was maybe fnatic losing to sCa.int. Fnatic, as usual a candidate for the top six playoffs, might have been the favourite for most of the community, but underdog sCa.int (former hoorai / PiG) managed to beat ElakeDuck and fnatic's newest addition elfittaja aswell as the Finish 2on2 team and therefore achieved their first victory this season.

The match between SK Gaming and MeetYourMakers has been very interesting, since MYM became stronger compared to last season, and SK lost their key players Sweet and Zacard, but merged with SK.ger. The favourite MYM was able to win with a clear 4-1 score, and SK has to improve if they want to be successful with this lineup.

If you think of 4 Kings, the most successful team of WC3L's history and reigning champion, against Team NoA - what would you expect? Most will see 4K in favour, but this time they lost.
Did 4K underestimate the Korean team? Hard to say, but it's a fact that they did not use Grubby this time, who could have changed the whole result maybe.
The final score was 3-2 for NoA, with only ToD and the 4K 2on2 team winning their matches.

Overall one could say that it was quite a normal first playday, since the teams and their lineups changed. Nothing is lost for anyone and as usual there will for sure be some teams dominating, others will surprise the fans and one or two maybe will disappoint their fans. Let's see who will develop and increase their strengh, and who will not use his full potential.
