RaceWarsII: Insomnia vs. Lucifer in a close-up

The RaceWars II event started just this week and it is meant to determine the strongest race with four players of each race being invited to participate. We will give you a close-up of the three games between Insomnia and Lucifer. Enjoy.

Lucifer has shown his great skill recently when taking out four players of WE in NGL-One and giving MYM a 4-0 victory. His first opponent in Race Wars II is none other than SK.Insomnia and three games were needed to determine a winner in this exciting Human versus Undead best out of three series. If you are not interestered in the results yet we recommend to head over to our replay archive and download the replays before reading any further as we will spoil the results. Game 1: Turtle Rock

(18:18 minutes)
MYM]Lucifer spawns at 11o'clock position, selects Death Knight as first hero and starts creeping with some Ghouls. Insomnia spawns at 4o'clock position, picks Arch Mage as first hero and cleans the creeping spots near his base and heads towards Lucifer's army to disturb him while creeping. Inso adds Mountain King and Paladin as additional heroes very soon, Luci picks some Fiends, Lich and Dark Ranger and several battles with a nice display of micro follow. Worth mentioning is that Insomnia does not use a single spell caster but many knights. A back and forth for many minutes begins, Lucifer manages to take down MK, Pala and MK again and does not lose a single unit himself. The final battle takes place only a few minutes later with AM being killed very soon and many Minions fighting Milita. Insomnia types out. Lucifer 1-0.

Game 2: Echo Isles

(23:51 minutes)
Similar opening, Lucifer starts at top left position, picks DK and tries to harrass Insomnia who is already cleaning the spots with AM and Militia/Footmen. Inso decides to take his expo first, Luci begins tier2 tech and adds several Fiends. Both players clean some spots, Luci picks Dark Ranger as second hero and shows good micro in battles vs. the Human army. Inso adds MK as second hero, starts tier3 and starts producing Knights, Morters and Riflemen. Lucifer manages to destroy the expo, loses Lich after a long fight, almost manages to take down AM and eventually loses Dark Ranger only moments before he can use TP. Insomnia is ahead of supply now, rebuilds his expo and heads straight towards Lucifers expo. The game continues with epic fights, Insomnia loses his expo again but has the bigger army and can push the Undead forces back. Lucifer runs out of Gold and both players meet for a final battle. With both MK and AM lvl5 Insomnia manages to kill DK and with no chances on winning this game Lucifer types "GG". Insomnia ties: 1-1

Game 3: Terenas Stand

Terenas Stand is the map for final game between these top-notch players. Lucifer picks DK again, Insomnia uses AM and starts creeping but gets scouted by DK who tries to get the last hit. Insomnia starts an expo but Lucifer plays very aggressively and manages to take down many Peasants with DK+Ghouls and delays the expo a lot. Lucifer splits his army, Death Knight and some Ghouls attack the expo, Lich (6:30minutes into the game by now, Inso did not even start tier2) defends the attack of AM, Water Elementals and Footman. Lucifer has full control of the game now, is ahead of supply and heroes and after killing Arch Mage he ends the game in ~9minutes. Lucifer wins 2-1
