After one hell of a comeback, Grubby takes home the World Series of Video Games title, and apart from a fancy title he also earns himself $20,000, a Rolex watch and a computer!
Sweet dominated the Winner Bracket, defeating xiaOt, Nilknarf and Grubby on his way to the Grand Final. Grubby, who first took down Shortround and then Giacomo came off to short against Sweet and was knocked down in the Loser Bracket. He did not have to stay there very long, as Grubby defeated FoV in the LB final.
With this scenario Grubby was forced to win two best of three rounds in a row, as he came from Loser Bracket. A tough job, and Sweet also had the psychological advantage after winning against the Dutchman earlier. However, Grubby wins the first best of three, played on Twisted Meadows and Terenas Stand. Second round turns into a nailbiter, as they took one game each.
At the score 1-1, the last map was Gnoll Wood, and Grubby played very confident. Kodos, Raiders and Grunts along with his heroes Farseer and Tauren Chieftain was too much to handle for Sweet's Ghouls and Destroyers.
A very happy and emotional Grubby could be seen after the games packing up his stuff, with tears in his eyes. He came in as the favourite, and ended up winning it. A great way to end his gaming of the year 2006. Now, Grubby will take a well deserved vacation.
