fnatic defeats World Elite in Playday 3 finisher

[s]event_183[/s]

fnatic was the surprise of playday three, as they just now took down World Elite after seven intense matches. Match winner - ElakeDuck.

The last match in the third playday of NGL ONE Season 2 was between the European-based team fnatic and the Asia-based World Elite. World Elite had a good shot of taking the lead in the scoreboard while fnatic was a middle-team. 71% betted for World Elite in » our GosuBet, and they were surely considered the favourites.

However it started out well for fnatic, as the Russian Human player XyLigan defeated ReMinD on Terenas Stand. Soju then evened out the score taking down the Russian on Twisted Meadows. Then Rotterdam stepped up and took two important wins for fnatic, against Soju and TeD. Then the Orcish powerhouse Lyn stepped up and took down Rotterdam and Satiini.

Sweden ElakeDuck > Korea Lyn @ Echo Isles

In the final match, the Swedish Orc player ElakeDuck stepped up, who made some sensational matches the past weeks, such as taking down ToD in the Extreme Masters. In a great game, the Swedish 'aLUCKYDuck', as some of the shoutcast listeners called him, Björn Ödman took the fourth win for fnatic and closed the win for the team.

Another well-needed victory in the ever so tough NGL-ONE. GosuGamers sat down with fnatic.Rotterdam, today's match winner by taking down both Soju and TeD.
GosuGamers.net: Was this an expected victory?
- Hmm, not expected but not a stunning surprise either, if you look at our last wars; 3-4 versus MYM, 4-3 versus Four-Kings and 2-3 versus SK-Gaming without Xyligan and Duck I think it shows fnatic.wc3 is becoming better than ever. There is no team that will easily destroy us :)
But World Elite was the favorite of course, but we fnatic players believed in this victory and I'm very happy we continued our strong performance so far in NGL.

GosuGamers.net: How do you rate your own performance, taking down Soju and TeD?
- Well I'm happy ofcourse to take two men down but also a bit disappointed about the way I played versus Lyn. He played pretty good no doubt but I made some clear mistakes which annoys me, like I knew 100% he would come to the middle when I was creeping the dragon but I used dust too early and in the end he took the experience after all and run away. I needed that experience badly since level 3 Shadow Hunter is a must. But after all a good feeling because I won against two players, which is never bad.

GosuGamers.net: And what about ElakeDuck's performance in the end?
- I didn't see it yet because there was no GGTV, but I was listening to the cast and it sounded pretty "Ducklike"! :D. I'm happy he once again won the final game for us, he has been so important in a couple of clanwars already in the short time he is with us which is just great and I will check the game as soon as possible of course.

GosuGamers.net: Is he the best recruit you have made for a long time in fnatic?
- Don't wanna do any other members short but result wise I think he is, since he did really good since he joined us which is great for him and for us ;]. Even though I think ever since we started the new fnatic.wc3 with Abver, Xyli, Satiini joining and others leaving it's going better with us.

GosuGamers.net: You're ranked sixth in the ngl-one table, is this a position you are happy with?
- I don't really care about it, if I would have to choose between finishing Top 4 and fnatic not making the finals or finish Top 6 and fnatic makes it I go for the second one.

GosuGamers.net: What suits your team the best, the WC3L format or the NGL-ONE?
- Hard to say, I don't think it matters a lot, we got pretty allround players and no one match-up miracles so I guess it's even.

GosuGamers.net: Next playday you go up against SK-Gaming. What are your predictions of that match?
- It will be another hard war to win for us but we will do everything to win it. Last season we won versus SK-Gaming but we lost to them last week in the WC3L 5/6th decider, even though we won in the regular season :). So I think it will be a close war once again but we will go for a victory and if we got a good day we can do it.
