Extreme Masters: (Elake)Duck for cover, ToD!

[s]event_292[/s]

A good start in Extreme Masters for ElakeDuck, taking down first NapS and now ToD. Next Masters game he is up against DIDI8, featured at the Intel Friday Night Game in Stockholm.
- I think DIDI8 is a great Night Elf player and one of the most consistent ones. My family is probably coming to watch as well, so I'm looking forward to a nice event.

ElakeDuck scores his second win in the Extreme Masters by defeating the World Cyber Games silver medalist ToD. ToD is considered by many one of the absolute best Human players, and many thought that ToD would take home this match. Even ElakeDuck himself thought that ToD was the better player.

Though after three games, it was clear that ElakeDuck stood as the victor, winning on Secret Valley and Turtle Rock. First game was played on Echo Isles, and was won by ToD. GosuGamers caught up with ElakeDuck to tell us about the games. We also talk about the upcoming match against DIDI8 which will be featured at the Intel Friday Night Game in Stockholm in December.

Congratulations winning against ToD in Extreme Masters. Tell me a little bit of the games that were played, any good ones?
- First game I made a lot of mistakes. I gave up too early and generally sucked. The second two games was bascially Blademaster, Shadowhunter and Wyverns versus Archmage, Beastmaster and spellcasters. We fought, he added Hawks, I started making Raiders with some Shamans. The third game was really close - he pushed hard with towers and casters early, but I managed to cancel the towers with Wyvern focus and then a long fight emerged where I focused his heroes with my heroes. I used peons to soak some damage and tried to have my wyverns do damage over trees and such to not get targeted.

Did you think earlier that you had a shot against ToD?
- Well I know he's a better player, so I just figured I'm not gonna waste any precious poker time practicing. Just go for it and if it works it works. If not I wouldn't have minded too much.

This day was very good for the Nordic players in Extreme Masters, Creolophus taking down sunshine and creolophus hum4nic and you ToD. How strong is the Nordic countries nowadays?
- I don't know, I guess the Nordic countries and especially Sweden have always had a lot of good WarCraft players.

- Before my chances were real slim in this sick rigged group, now I guess they are decent.

- I think DIDI8 is a great Night Elf player and one of the most consistent ones. My family is probably coming to watch as well, so I'm looking forward to a nice event. It is not my favourite matchup, but I think I have a pretty fair chance.

What do you think of fnatic's chances against World Elite in NGL-One on Monday?
- It's going to be a close match. It can end either way.
