InCup Finals incl. €500: Koreans dominating

The finals of the InCup Summer 2006 were played last weekend and when having a look at the participating players this event promised to be very interesting. Sixteen players with great skill faced eachother and showed good games, but finally the Koreans stood above the rest.

Sixteen players of the last season managed to secure a spot in the InCup Summer Finals 2006. Unfortunately 4K-Creolophus had a spot, but couldn't take part due to the WSVG in London and even his replacement Geil.Gia-ACT couldn't play. The following replacement was SK.BeTSweet (picture), who is going to play an important role in the tournament. Razer, the official sponsor of the former InCup tournaments and the final, gives out a prize money of €500 for the winning player. Next to the fame and fun another important reason to show the best. The games could be watched via WTV and GG-TV or while listening to one of the casts in German, French or English to mention the popular one's. Below you will find the results of round one to get an overview of the participating players.

All games are played best out of three and the map pool consists of the following maps: Echo Isles, Twisted Meadows, Tresure Island, Terenas Stand and Gnollwood. Each player can vote against one map, which will be picked out. We will skip some of the less important rounds, if you are interested in them just follow the link given below to the coverage of InWarcraft.de. A short summarization: Moon beat Shy first (2-1), but lost to Satiini afterwards (1-2). Ciara lost to Sweet, but beat Konna the next round, who kicked Fov out of the round before. HoT was victorious against FiXsrs and Day-Night_Abuse, TeRRoR beat n!sIER.

Loser bracket round 2.5: SK.HoT 1-2 SuppLant fnatic.Satiini 2-0 Rob

Winner bracket round 3: SK.BeT.Sweet 2-0 SuppLant Rob 0-2 WE.IGE.Lyn

We now have four players left, all fighting for the title of InCup Summer Finals 2006 and €500 prize money. fnatic.Satiini (picture) will face SuppLant in the loser bracket final and the winner of this bo3 game will face the loser of the winner bracket final between SK.BeT.Sweet and WE.IGE.Lyn. The secondary replacement Sweet on a great run after beating Moon, Ciara and SuppLant. He will be facing Lyn now, who has only a single loss so far as well. A promising WB Final.

Winner bracket final: SK.BeT.Sweet 0-2 WE.IGE.Lyn

Loser bracket final: SuppLant 2-0 fnatic.Satiini

Due to the 2-0 against Sweet, Lyn is already qualified for the Grand Final and only needs to win one bo3 to win the tournament. His opponent needs to win two bo3 to win the €500, because he advances from the 2nd Loser bracket Final. The loser of the winner bracket final Sweet faced the winner of Supplant vs. Satiini. Those games were played on Monday due to the time zone difference between the Europeans and the Koreans. SuppLant managed to beat Satiini and we have three Koreans left fighting for the first place.

2nd loser bracket final: SK.BeT.Sweet 2-0 SuppLant

Grand Final: SK.BeT.Sweet 2-0 WE.IGE.Lyn SK.BeT.Sweet 0-2 WE.IGE.Lyn

Sweet makes a great comeback after losing to Lyn in the winner bracket final and beats SuppLant first (2-0) and then takes the first bo3 vs. Lyn with 2-0 again. But Lyn does not lose his concentration and manages to win the deciding best out of three game and recieves the €500 prize money.
