Rene "Ciara" Krag lost his 1on1 match and the 2on2 match with Grubby in yesterday's quarter final match against ieS Virtual Gaming. To GosuGamers, he tells us about what went wrong and why they played double Night Elf in the last game.Evil Geniuses, who seem to be in the middle of a player dropout had no good day on the WC3L battlefield yesterday. While Grubby defeated WinNers with 2-0, Ciara lost his match against Myth 0-2. The duo could then also lose in the 2on2 match to end the match 2-4.
While the WC3L playoffs is double elimination, it will be a tough road ahead for Evil Geniuses, as they take on Geh aB Clan in the next round.
Critics blame you for the loss, do you agree?
- "I couldn't care less of what people think of me, but I guess I lost, so it certainly didn't help the case."
What were your expectations coming into the match yesterday?
- "Well, I was kind of hoping I would be facing a Night Elf instead of a Human player. I knew it would be close from the start but was hoping I could at least have taken one map out of Myth.
I dont think I played bad he just played better... He had some nice ideas with his creeping, especially his single footman with defend while harrasing me in my base. I knew from the moment I saw he had defend in my base, that he would do that creeping. But I couldn't run cross map to prevent it while he was in my base."
What happened in the team game?
- "Some minor misunderstandings plus one major error on my part in the first 2on2. It was looking pretty good, then I wanted to harass them forcing them to chase me around, while Grubby could creep some and get his expo going. But he saw they had no TP and instead I commited too heavily on killing the Night Elf main. And well... fucked it up (grins).
In the second game we tried out something new. We went double Night Elf, going Demon Hunter and a handful of archers each while teching; one going dryads and archers other talons and archers.
I added a Pit Lord and Grubby hired a Beastmaster and then we just went into the fight more or less. It looked good at the start, but their expansions started paying off and we slowly lost more and more ground in the game. For some reasons neither me nor Grubby thought they might have made an expansion."
We have barely seen Happy play anything at all this WC3L season, it says he was too annoyed by the bad Internet connection in Russia. Is that true, and if it is, does him being off the team have anything to do with that?
- "Well I can say I'm not sure of the reason, I heard some rumors but I'd rather hear it from him or the management. Seeing as I'm not really part of whatever the problem might be I'd rather stay out of it."

Have you signed a new contract with Evil Geniuses yet?
- "Nothing yet, nope. I'm still under one as far as I know, but I'm not really sure (laughs)"
