Grubby absent when SK prevailed over Evil Geniuses

When Evil Geniuses premiered in the sixteenth season of WC3L, they did so without their team skipper Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen. Instead Dmitriy "Happy" Kostin and Rene "Ciara" Krag had to face off against the Koreans in SK-Gaming: June "Lyn" Park, Hyeong Ju "Check" Lee and Du Seop "WhO" Chang.

The first round saw Happy get defeated by Lyn on Ancient Isle and Turtle Rock, and Ciara tieing 1-1 in the Orc mirror with WhO. The first game between the Orcs saw WhO drop, so the game had to be replayed.

- It was pretty even when WhO dropped, but I had better creeping pattern and in the regame i couldn't do the same which made me have to improvise, which gave me a worse start instead of getting level 3 first while he did.

- The second game I just kept trying knowing I was behind, so I just tried what I knew and lamed myself to a lot of peon kills with my blademaster - even burrows. In the end I took down his main, explains Ciara to GosuGamers.

Following the new league system; A 2on2 match. Ciara (playing Night Elf) and Happy teamed up against Check and Lyn, in a match that ended 1-1.

How was it like playing with Happy in 2on2? Are you two used to teaming up? How did you think you did in the team game?

- Well, we played a few games the day before and playing Night Elf as everyone knows is quite easy, even if it's just massing hunts/talons/bears of whatever. As for us as a team, we're kinda new to that - we could have done a lot better in game 2 where we had some miscommunication.

Entering the ace match, SK was already up 4-2, but thanks to solid play by Check the numbers turned 5-2 in favor for the Korean team.

According to Ciara, Grubby was absent due to being jetlagged after traveling home from International eSports Festival in Korea.

Against All Authority played against Serious-Gaming today. International stars DowaQ and viOlet played for Serious Gaming, but was unable leave the clanwar with a win. The match ended 4-3 in favor for the French. (Monster - DowaQ 1-1, BeNSeN - viOlet 2-0, 2on2 1-1, Monster - viOlet 0-1).
