Six times ESL Pro Series champion Daniel "Miou" Holthius suffered defeat against Fabian "sH0Wt1Me" Seither in the initial playday of the 15th season of the German long-runner event.
But Miou was not the only pre-hand favorite dropping points in the opening as Daniel "ixi" Spenst, Heinrich "S.o.K.o.L" Rennert and Marc "yAwS" Förster experienced defeat as well.
Geh aB Clan's Toni "Dolorian" Bulitz could defeat the » recently crowned Most Valuable Player in WCIP, S.o.K.o.L, by a clear 2-0 score which should be counted as an upset even with Orc vs. Night Elf being his self proclaimed worst matchup.
The former team mates Stefan "dArk" Lehmann and yAwS, both top contenders for the title, went at it in a nail-biting match in which the Alternate player came out on top.
All matches but one from the first playday is finished, with Dennis "HasuObs" Schneider's match against Daniel "Farmer" Ciesla taking place this Sunday.
