fnatic Announces PLAY Cup

This Sunday, fnatic will bring some excitement to the Warcraft 3 community with its new PLAY Cup

fnatic, along with its sponsor Bestpoker, announced a video game tournament site known as PLAY. Tournaments will usually be hosted on Sundays in varied games and fnatic has chosen to start with Warcraft 3 this upcoming Sunday with a total prize pool of $250.

The tournament will run similar to Zotac Cup with a single-elimination and best-of-1 format until Round 5. Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals are best-of-3 and the Grand-Finals will be a best-of-5.

The tournament is limited to 127 participants. In order to participate, one has to first create an account on play.fnatic.com. Only the first 127 players to register will get to play. Professional players such as Hyo Sub "FoCuS" Eom and Chul Woo "Shy" Park have already signed up for the Cup.

Prize distribution:
1st place - $100
2nd place - $75
3rd place - $50
4th place - $25

As a sponsor bonus fnatic and Bestpoker are giving Warcraft 3 players, who are a fan of poker or play poker themselves, a chance to double the prize money they win by playing poker on Bestpoker.com.

fnatic's sponsor, Steel Series, has donated hardware to the Warcraft 3 Sunday Cup for those under the age of 18 who make it to the top3 as they are not able to win cash. Hardware includes mouse, headset and mouse pad.

Registrations for the Cup is still open and ends on Sunday June 14th at 11:00CET. Matches will start at 12:00CET.
