Grubby has been considered for a long time the "king of orcs", and without a doubt; he has given everyone great games to enjoy and treasure, but he has lost his dominance, even if he lost it to love, he still did. So with the throne vacant, it was only a matter of time before someone rose to it. And that person is Sk's orc player June "Lyn" Park.
Not long ago, Lyn won his second big tournament at LA, defeating MYM]Lucifer for the Extreme Masters: Global Challenge (Read the news
Here). Now he has done something that is worth and probably will be, remembered for times to come. He managed to beat MYM]Moon, an elf player who barely ever loses to orcs, not once, not twice, but
four times!, and by accomplishing such a feat, he also is $ 10,000 richer, the newly crowned king of orcs, oh and the Make Games Colorful tournament champion.
Before we go on to the final, it is also worth taking note that Lyn beat the top two human players,

WE.Sky, both by 2:1, before taking on another human player,

wNv.Th000, just to be told that he'd need to beat Moon in two best of three series to get the title. Guess he was quite determined to do so. So let's move on to the games, shall we?
Game 1
Secret ValleyThe game starts like many other Orc vs NE matches start, orc creeps a bit with blademaster and grunt while elf creeps the orange spot with his aow and archer while the demon hunter searches the orc for some harassing. Still, the game is pretty slow and boring until they both hit tier 2.
They both decide it's in each other's best interests to stop those tier 2 buildings from coming up so they harass as much as they can, slowing the game even more. But once the raiders, walkers and dotts are being pumped out, the first skirmish comes in the form of a creepjack that ends up bad for Moon.

Not exactly what he was going for now was it?
After Moon falls back, it's back to creeping for both of them, until the second creepjack comes, but now the creepjacked is Moon, who does not get so easily out of it. Demon hunter falls, Beastmaster falls, Tauren Chieftain reaches level 5, Moon types gg, 3 more to go.

Game 2
Turtle RockThis game is just some massive creeping until the 15th minute, So massive is the creeping that the Tauren Chieftain is already level 5 once they meet. Before this, Moon harasses Lyn's burrows a little bit, but nothing too big to make Lyn fall back. Once Lyn arrives at Moon's base is 65 vs 50 and with Moon already building an expansion at the far right corner of the map. So while Moon tries his best to avoid the shockwaves, Lyn's hero micro proves to be a pain in the tushie to handle.

But Moon fends off lyn who walks away with 28 pop while Moon is at 42. But the biggest problem for Moon is that level 6 tauren chieftain who just reincarnated. Lyn, confident he will be able to score a few waves comes back to moon base and continues to greet the dotts in a very wavily manner.
![mgclynmoon06.jpg]()
Do not run, I am your friend.
Beastmaster and blademaster fall while the mines are depleted; both players with an expansion, with the only difference that Moon knows where Lyn's is, while Lyn is oblivious ot the fact that Moon got himself an expansion. Moon harasses Lyn's expansion but is forced to run when that big bad TC comes to defend his territory, Lyn spots Moon's expansion and proceeds to take it down, while Moon does the same to his. Then after some minor skirmishes it all comes down to a two men army against superman and some dotts.

Two-man army walking...
There's and old saying that goes: Never turn your back on your enemy. Well, guess what Moon did... Superman down, Moon types out.

You can see Kigami jumping of happiness.
Game 3
Secret ValleyStarts very much alike the first game, some creeping here, some manaburning there, but nothing too serious. Once they hit tier 2, Moon adds beastmaster and Lyn without even scouting, adds the tauren Chieftain. To a bit of his surprise, he finds a dryad coming with both heroes to a creepjack in the middle of the map, to which lyn responds by building the war mall immediately. So, lyn now knows that there wont be dotts here but dryads and bears so he has to prepare and adapt.
Lyn decides to harass a bit and prevent Moon from overwhelming him while he prepares, but Moon has other plans and goes to his base after forcing him to tp out of his base, but lyn is not on a welcoming mood and very kindly lets Moon know he is not welcome in his base. Moon sees the tauren Chieftain is in the red so he chases, but it turned out to be a bad idea.
![mgclynmoon09.jpg]()
Too greedy?
Now it is not looking too good for Moon. But lyn decides to creep his tauren Chieftainto level 5 and so Moon is able to get his army back. After that, Lyn looks for Moon while this one just camps calmly waiting for lyn to come in. In the end, Lyn retreats and Moon goes out, just to find himself with the green skinned warriors halfway there.
![mgclynmoon10.jpg]()
The last battle...
Moon's 70 pop vs Lyn's 58. The last battle, and lyn's positioning is just perfect, and so is his micro. Moon has nothing to do but see his army get obliterated by the orc's victory lusted blades and falls back with what's left of his army and heroes in the red, while the green menace approaches. Demon Hunter falls, Beastmaster follows, Moon types out again.

Lyn all over Moon
Game 4
Turtle RockClose spawn, so we have action from minute 1. Lyn decides to go after Moon's archers and wisps, with petty luck, while Moon manages to get level 2 quite fast. Before hitting tier 2, Lyn positions his grunts near the tavern to prevent Moon from getting Beastmaster, or risking to lose him as soon as he appears; Moons plays safe and chooses to get the Keeper of the grove. The second Hero that does not have the same luck is the Tauren Chieftain that is caught while creeping in the nearby Orange creeping spot, and loses his life.
![mgclynmoon12.jpg]()
This one does not look that good for the king
Moon proceeds to pick on grunts with entangle but Blade master is fast at breaking up the party. Moon then enters Lyn's base and kills a burrow but with TC back and Blade dealing more damage than desired, Moon decides it's better to fall back; sadly for him Demon hunter falls behind and finds himself surrounded and forced to tp out. Then they both go to creep but Moon's Demon Hunter wants to see what Lyn is up to finding himself in a tight situation and forced to tp out again.
They, again, go on a massive creeping spree until there's not much left to do but go and beat each other down, and they do so in the shore between the two bases, but lyn knows that this is not the best place to fight a fully ranged army so while he shockwaves he falls back to a wider area.
![mgclynmoon13.jpg]()
Even Superman can have bad days
But for Moon's own bad luck, his three heroes fined themselves receiving the full damage output of Lyn's forces, and after a marvelous display of micro, Lyn is the one who pushed harder, forcing an already defeated Moon to retreat to his base after losing a fight, that he should've won. He revives his demon hunter, who gets caught while entering the base and the keeper is also caught out of the ancients protection and passes on to better life. Moon types "gg" for the fourth time today and it's all over folks, Lyn is the new MGC champion and king of orcs, all bow down to your orcish highness!
![mgclynmoon13.jpg]()
Lyn pushed harder and harder every time
In conclusion, It's not that Moon played bad, it was the fact that today June "Lyn" Park was on a completely different level. Congratulations to Lyn for winning the MGC and showing to the whole world that is a matter of determination and guts, not of the race you play. ![]()
