NGL-ONE - Fly's revenge

Susiria - crash! Shy - boom! Moon, Lucifer and ToD - bang! That was Wei Liang "Fly100%" Lu's start in the latest StarsWar tournament. The Chinese Orc player showed a cutting edge playstyle and a self confidence we have not seen in an Orc player since the days when Grubby was invincible. After that it all went downwards. First he lost to SaSe, and then to Soju and could not help his team anymore in the Starswar tournament. Yet, Fly100% was remembered as the one who took down the Korean team á la MYM plus Shy on his own.

The next tournament was the PGL WarCraft Invitational, where he was one of the first players to get eliminated after losing to Moon and SaSe. Was the China E-Sport Games winner in a slump?

Fly100% joined up with Mousesports in 27th of September 2006 when they signed a cooperation with the Chinese team Hacker. Since then he has performed so-so, winning some and losing some. Some said it was because of the poor internet connection in China, others that he was not good enough.

After PGL, Fly's next matches were the in the start of WC3L, where he first lost to the Korean Human player Rainbow (Defining Stars), followed by a loss from Susiria (MeetYourMakers) and suHo (World Elite). A 2-1 win together with SaSe versus Point and Zuech (Defining Stars) is the only win Fly100% has had in WC3L.

Then, the news came that Mousesports are, despite all the rumors of visa issues, sending Fly100% to the NGL-ONE finals. Earlier, Mousesports were forced to rely on their German players who have not at all shown the same skill as their international players. Sure they had SaSe, but he still lacks the technique to take on the really big ones with consistency. With Fly100% at Games Convention, they had one of Asia's absolute best Orc players - without any lag.

Fly100% @ Games Convention
China Fly100% > France ToD
China Fly100% > Netherlands Grubby
China Fly100% > Korea FoCuS
China Fly100% > Korea Lucifer
China Fly100% < Korea Moon
China Fly100% > Netherlands Grubby
China Fly100% > France ToD
China Fly100% > Norway Creolophus
And what a success. In the first match versus 4Kings, Mousesports was tied 2-2. After ToD's win after being disconnected, the Mousesports team had only Fly and SaSe to rely on. It seemed gloom for the Mice - would they drop down in the Loser Bracket once again, or would they stand ground and defeat the 4Kings? With their two superstars ToD and Grubby left it did not look easy but when Fly100% stepped up he did so with the authority and a self confidence that we last saw at StarsWar. A win for Fly100% was marked in the books, and his long losing spree of nine matches had ended. If defeating ToD was not enough, he also took down Grubby in this second match. The reign of Fly100% had begun.

MeetYourMakers awaited in the Winner Bracket Final. Fly100% along with another would play the biggest parts in this exciting match. The winner goes to the overall final, while the loser has to play in Loser Bracket. FoCuS, MeetYourMakers' latest recruit, wreaked havoc in the three first games taking down HasuObs, Happy and SaSe and left for the Mice was - Fly100%. The Chinese Orc player, once again, stood up and stopped FoCuS from giving MeetYourMakers the win. The Chinese Orc also took down Lucifer, but when Moon, sometimes referred to as the "fifth race", entered the tournament Fly100% had to type out.

Loser Bracket for Mousesports, and their opponents turned out to be 4Kings. With a flown-in Creolophus it seemed a lot tougher for Mousesports to defeat 4Kings. But wonders never cease, as Fly100% once again could take down 4Kings all on his own. Another Fly sensation was a fact - and you could really see when the big bosses from Mousesports cheered and hugged Fly100% after the match how glad they were to have him there.

The final test is here. MeetYourMakers in the overall final. Fly100% has defeated them on his own before - he can do it again.
