VALORANT Shuffles: Version1 says goodbye to Zander

The player will reportedly join a new team under former XSET co-founder Marco Mereu.

In an announcement by Version1, the team’s IGL Alexander “Zander” Dituri has parted ways with the organisation. Zander has been with the team shy of a year and was crucial to the success of Version1 in North America. The team’s performance in 2022 was not as good as in 2021, when they qualified for Masters Stage 2 in Reykjavik, Iceland. There, they managed to reach the 5th-6th place.

In a social media post, the Canadian hinted at his next move. He is set to join a new outfit formed by former XSET co-founder Marco Mereu. He is set to join alongside Mohamed “johnqt” Amine Ouarid, Gianfranco “koalanoob” Potestio, Marc-Andre “NiSMO” Tayar and Daniel “eeiu” Vucenovic.

The new team will be competing in the VCT 2023 Challengers circuit, where they will try to qualify for Ascension – the new tournament that will grant one team from each region a spot in the respective international league the following year.

It is still being determined if Zander will be picked as the IGL of the new team. Any updates on his position will be made in the future once the official announcement is made.
