The ex-FunPlus Phoenix roster will now play under the Natus Vincere banner.
Natus Vincere has just picked up one of the best rosters in 2022 for their 2023 campaign.
The outfit has just announced that they picked up most of the FunPlus Phoenix roster that was let go yesterday. This is the same team that won Masters Copenhagen in their very first international tournament after missing the first Masters of 2022 due to travel logistics and the war in Ukraine.
The FPX roster is one of the more sought-after rosters after the news of them being let go by the team was made public. FPX did not achieve a partnership in the EMEA league.
The new roster will be made up of the following:
The only one missing from the line-up is Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks, who will continue his career in a different region. He has been linked with a move to Los Angeles to join NRG Esports. He is replaced by cNed formerly from Acend. Another big hitter, he is part of the squad that won Acend’s first Champions back in 2021.
NAVI COO Oleksii “xaoc” Kuchero told Dexerto:
:
“We aim for the highest result in every competition, so doing our best is a consistent approach for us. Our previous team didn’t deliver tier-one results in 2022, even though we had very close games almost every time. At the same time, FPX’s former roster proved itself the best in EMEA in 2022, and it was really tempting for us to acquire them. We have also known the team’s IGL, ANGE1, for about 20 years, and are confident that his skills as a captain will help us achieve top results. A good IGL is absolutely essential for success”
The new roster will make its debut in the kick-off tournament, set to be held in Sao Paolo in February 2023.
