New battle pass will be released alongside new weapons skin and Neon, the new agent for the game.
With the new year comes a new update for VALORANT. Riot Games has shared details on their upcoming update to the game, Episode 4 Act 1, which is set to drop online on January 11, 2022. The upcoming update brings new weapon skins, player cards as well as a new Agent for the game.
New weapons skin
Act 1 will bring not one, but two new weapons skin packs for players to purchase with their VP. The first pack will be available under the battlepass, where players will have access to three different skins after putting down 1,000VP in game. The highlights of the new skins include the Velocity Karambit, the Hyrodrip Frenzy, and the Schema Vandal – all part of the three new skin packs in the battle pass.
The second option is the more premium PROTOCOL 781-A themes skin pack. This skin pack includes five weapons along with the associated Finishers, Transformations, Animations, Visual Effects, Voice-Over (male and female version), Gun Audios and variants for each weapon.
The five weapons are:
- Personal Administrative Melee Unit (melee)
- Protocol 781-A Phantom
- Protocol 781-A Spectre
- Protocol 781-A Bulldog
- Protocol 781-A Sheriff

Sprays, Cards and Buddies
Along with the new weapons pack, the new battle pass will also introduce new sprays, cards and buddies – both free and premium versions. For the free versions, players will be able to pick up the following:
- Operation: Fracture Player Card
- Valentine's Tactics Player Card
- Chicken Out Gun Buddy
- Lost Connection Spray
Meanwhile for paid version, players can expect the following for their buddies and cards pickup:
- Unstoppable // Sage Player Card
- Be Mine Valentine’s Day Player Card series
- Big Brain Gun Buddy
- Nice One Spray
Neon is coming
As we previewed previously, Neon will officially be joining VALORANT with the new update. The first Filipino agent, she surges forward at shocking speeds, discharging bursts of bioelectric radiance as fast as her body generates it. She races ahead to catch enemies off guard, then strikes them down quicker than lightning.
Her official abilities are as follows:
- High Gear- instantly channels Neon’s power for increased speed. When charged, press alt fire to trigger an electric slide. Slide charge resets every two kills.
- Relay Bolt - immediately throw an energy bolt that bounces once. Upon hitting each surface, the bolt electrifies the ground below with a concussive blast.
- Fast Lane - fires two energy lines forward on the ground that extend a short distance or until they hit a surface. The lines rise into walls of static electricity that block vision and damage enemies passing through them.
- Overdrive - Unleashes Neon’s full power and speed for a short duration. Press fire to channel the power into a deadly lightning beam with high movement accuracy. The duration resets on each kill.
She will be dropping on the same day as Act 1, so look forward to playing her in your matches!
